Make it a dilithium sink. There's people that will go all out with that. You guys will make a fortune.

and if they implement this they NEED to make romulan and kdf interiors for this as well; i mean alternate interiors, not the single corridor interior KDF and Romulans get
KDF for Life! <3 Romulan at Heart <3 Fed cause they made me ~ :P

Well I was thinking that maybe one straight hallway would cost perhaps 500 dilithium, other hallways would be priced proportionally based on that number, and rooms would be priced starting at 1000 dilithium based on size. If you think that you would end up spending millions of dilithium on this, hten all the more incentive for the devs to make it happen, especially if you're willing to spend real world cash on this just so you don't have to grind.

I see it as a modified version of the Foundry where regular items are available for free, but the C-Store would include racial sets like Borg sets, Andorian sets, and Vulcan sets. So the Borg set would include items like the Borg Alcove and other Borg-related items to be placed on the ship interior.

Why turn EVERYTHING into a grind ? Why can't we just have fun with something ?
This kind of thing, which is as close as housing as we can imagine shouldn't be a grind. We already have the fleet, the rep, etc for the grind.

    Yes.
lots of people dont want to grind just place the parts in c store thats better then grinding dilithium and if they did place the parts for dilithium it be lots more then 500 they charge 196000 like they do for fleet projects and trust me the whole thing would die right there ... c store is best way to add this in game

Probably the only way Foundry authors would get a tool like this for making custom interiors is if many of you out there are willing to grind for the pieces to make your custom interior. Why you would do it? I don't know. Do you visit your interiors now?

It would be a great tool for the foundry authors. And it would monetize something for PWE. That might be the only way we'll see something like this as a major update for the Foundry.

This I like. But again, no part of this can be free Cryptic could never return their investment on it that way.

If it's going to be a single purchase in the C-store, it's going to have to be something like 2000 zen. Otherwise they'll never have any hope of returning their invested time on this, and thus never do it. I'm not trying to shoot down ideas BTW, I'm just being a realist.

I remember when that person posted on the STO forums, proposing as a Foundry tool to create our own interiors. It had traction at first, until Cryptic decided to use their own version for the Neverwinter Foundry as a dungeon creator.

Be nice to have in STO in creating our own interior maps, but doubt that will ever happen. :(

there are alot of us who place a lot into what our ships look like lots of us role play and this would add just that more by addind on to what we have changing the inside to reflect our captains and there ships so this is more then a foundry tool its a tool that most would love and if you are one who doesnt then you dont need to use it. yet for so many who would like it stop being a downer .

Not trying to be a downer. I'm saying that yes, the only way it might be available to us Foundry authors is if there is a large demand out there from folks like you, who are willing to grind or pay for the legos to make your ship interior. We'd use the tool to make missions. It would only be possible for us if they can monetize it from you all out there.

There are not enough foundry authors out there to make money from us. But, if you folks are willing to pay or grind for a ten forward for your ship, it might be in the realm of possibility.

If it leads to proper housing, a lot of players would use it. Housing is always popular, look EQ housing, or even Rift now.
And Cryptic could make a lot of money selling unique themed housing pack (Borg, Tholian, whatever), or house place (Andoria, Vulcan...).

Also, the coming crafting revamp could be used for that to.

But then, when I see what housing look like in champions online, I'm pretty sure EQ2/rift or even Lotro housing is out of their reach.

    Merging ideas from another thread...

It would be very cool if I could build a house and sell it to players for in-game currency. I see that in games 10 years old.

But, those games seem far more into rp than STO.

Something like this would serve the function of "housing customization" very nicely

People will spend days noodling with that TRIBBLE if you give them the tools.

Dunno if thats desirable or not. People who spend hours moving a potted plant around a room, dont spend any money, just suck up server resources.

What if they could buy a better looking plant with dilithium? Or an ultra rare plant? Maybe that special plant has a doff assignment attached to a botanist?
