While on ground maps, if not in combat. You can summon all your bridge officers on the map to your location.
Either that or fix their pathing AI. They run your maze maps and get stuck in door ways or corridors and dont know how to go around things...
edit:
you could also always go back to all your maps/map resources and fix the corridors/hallways/doorways so that they are wide enough to accommodate the width of your ground away teams...
my ground away team stands in a formation that is pretty wide apart... that is how they move... so they get stuck when I pass thru doorways, especially if you put fancy obstacles around the doorway.
I'd like to be able to summon my boffs on social maps too. It's hard to show off when most group content has no away teams.

There used to be a picture here, but they changed signatures and I can't be bothered to replace it.
I'd like to be able to play the story missions without the BOFF's completelly...
Sure, I usually disable their attacks or stand them somewhere, but... having the option of not bringing them at all would be nice...

Fixing the AI and the pathfinding of Boffs is something that needs to be done, because on many maps it creates severe issues now, most prominent on Nimbus III and certain facilities in exploration clusters.
I'm strongly against summoning Boffs on the social maps or everywhere. While it would no doubtedly be neat to be able to do it, just think of the lag it can cause to certain places if everyone present summons their 4 Boff away team. It would completely stop the game at those places.
I made the same suggestion years ago, wanting a BOFF Site-to-Site transporter option in beaming them to our sides. Like what you said in BOFFs getting stuck in the terrain or due to bad pathing.
And in a way would give us a new variety with ground combat, where some zones are blocked by transporter inhibitors.

While I can agree with this, I think having a non-combat (ie. untargetable) pet costumed as a first officer would be great. It would also counter the weird "I'm a captain but my crew disappears on social hubs" feeling.

I think an upgraded version of the Tactical "Security Team" power would be a GREAT kit power to have.
And could come in a few flavors. I could see a C-Store version with TOS personnel, Mirror versions, a 29th century "Temporal Security Team", and department flavored versions for every department.
Sci summons medics/nurses, Eng summons engineers, Tac (since they already have a basic version) gets one that summons MACOs/Honor Guard/Reman Shadow Guard.
Then the flavored versions would be more hybrid and class universal.

I'd love for the bridge officer issue to be fixed, but not like that. That would be a step in the wrong direction, making the serious lack of immersion even worse.

Well bit of a tangent from talking about transporting BOFFs to your current location, but it's a very interesting idea. An more normalized trainable BOFF ability than the current version of Fleet, Reputation, and Lobi summonables.
I'd like to see this ability ingame too. You can currently call your security team breifly into a social zone so the ability to show off your boffs breifly would be nice, and I don't think would cause too many lag issues if it shared a cooldown with the security escort call.
Alternately I have wished for the abilty to call in some of my boffs (for a limited time) in some story missions when I've had trouble and not had a full away team.
I think it would be a neat feature if it was limited in its use.
Also the movement ai on the boffs could use a tweak indeed, the ammount of times my boffs have been stuck randomly somewhere and its taken me some distance to realise they are truly stuck and not going to find their way to me are many.
Perhaps an auto distance "summoning" would occur when it is aparent you and your (alive) boff are a great distance apart as I remember from some old school rpgs I've played where you play as a party, and if a party member ended up a certain distance away from you they would appear at your location (if they were alive).

No to adding them to social zones, but some way of getting them un-stuck on geometry would be so very welcome. Ran the Nimbus stuff yesterday, and they kept alternating between bunching up well inside my personal space, or getting caught and stuck on every bit of railing and debris around. Ended up running the Gorn Canyon with someone having the same problem, and by the time we got to the end we had 1 boff each. Thats just ridiculous.
I support being able to have bridge officers returned to my character's present vicinity as a workaround to having them stuck or unable to path their way back to me.
