Can we use Debit Cards?

If I should be so moved as to share some of my limited income to support this fine game,

Can I use a debit card?

If I go to the C-store and click on Buy Zen and go to that absolutely delightful purchasing page, pick amount, then choose payment type, it says I can pay by "Credit or Debit Card" but I only see credit cards offered. So, is it wrong? I no can use debit card? Me no wanna give CC companies more interest, thankyouverymuch.

(I -really really- wish I was asked what I wanted first, and not how much I wanted to spend. Not only do I want my purchasing decision to be based on what I would get but not on how much I would spend, but I think its a bad idea marketing-wise. But that's just me, I guess.)

I've used my debit card directly with no issues. It should still be an option.

if you have trouble directly using your debit card, you can buy PWE cards at stores like walmart and target with your debit and then just apply those to your account.

They support debit but it still has to be with a supported payment processor, e.g. Visa, MasterCard, etc.. Even if it says Credit it'll charge Debit just fine.

I noticed that as well, last weekend when I wanted to buy the Patrol Escort Refit. I suspect when they say 'debit card', they mean using a credit card to debit your bank account rather than charging credit to the card, as opposed to an actual debit card (as in, a card from your bank that's only good for withdrawing funds from your account). Just a hunch though, could be wrong.

Yeah, credit and debit cards are functionally interchangeable. As long as there is money in your account you can pretty much assume that a debit card will work on anything labelled credit card.

Keep in mind that your first transaction can take a long time to process. That is a security feature Skrill uses so that they can verify that it is you purchasing the items and not someone using a stolen credit or debit card. This is explained on the payment site in the FAQ.

Some areas as also in lockout from buying Zen. Various Countries around the world, and even a few States in the US.

As someone else stated, there are various places to buy PW Game Cards - and there are some online stores that will sell you the Game Cards and simply email you the Activation Code once your payment clears. So if you have trouble dealing with Skrill you can try one of those sources as well.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

When they are talking about a debit card, they mean an actual debit card (ie a check card) which is a processor card (Vista, Mastercard, Amex or Discover) which simply debits from your account; and not a bank card. Though most bank cards these days are debit (check) cards.

While there are several great options given to you, I figured I would tell you what I do. I have my bank/debit card linked to PayPal and I use that for all STO transactions (Subs, Zen, etc). This allows me to have a buffer between my bank and the vendor.

Never mind. I'll just use a credit card, or maybe paypal if I still have it set up (that's a good idea.) If it isn't labelled debit and doesn't take my debit PIN but requires a credit card number, credit card expy date and credit card security code, it feels to me like a credit card, whether it is in reality or not. I don't want to give m bank any excuse to charge mor fees, mess with accounts, etc.

If they added some text saying that it would be processed as a debit card I might go for it. Heck, the security code is rubbed off anyway so its for the best.

BTW I can buy $10 PWE cards at my local 7-11 but its raining targs and cardassian voles and I'm feeling lazy.
