So I've been thinking about this since Cyptic put out a new ESD. Why not get rid of that nebula thats just floating around near the shipyards . Why not just move it to the lower levels ( you know, the ones no one ever goes to) and connect it to Qu'nos and New Romulus . Allowing all the faction captains access to others that way. Now in order to tell where you entered, you can add faction banners above a doors.
Maybe even adding More Past Captains , like Archer and Sisko, Janeway, Sulu, Kirk, and Scotty.
Hell add Shon . And then just get rid of that eyesore around esd.
From what I know from Taco, the plan is to remove the nebula from orbit and place the door to the Captain's Table somewhere inside or near Club 47 when it's finished.
If they remove the space map for the Captain's Table, then I would be slightly disappointed with the Captain's Table. Therefore, there should be a Transwarp option and Social area option where every social area has its own access to the Captain's Table.
I have always believed that the Captain's Table should just be a Transwarp location on your drop down list like ESD. No doorways of any type required.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

That makes the most sense to me as well.
I know the Captain's Table was made in the developers spare time but I also hope it will get an update one day. The concierge used to drop tidbits of info on upcoming content/FEs which was cool but when I checked she still was dropping hints for the 2800 series. The Feds and Klingons there also think they are still at war and there are no Romulans there at all.
The Club 47 doorway idea fits the method of accessing the Captain's Table in the novels. Captains stumble upon a mysterious doorway on their journeys that transport them to the Captain's Table. It is a whole lot better than the glowing nebula that we currently have to use.
The addition of the Captain's Table door to Club 47 and removal of that ugly gas cloud over Earth is a vast improvement and right in line with what was portrayed in the books. Kudos to Tacofangs for finally being able to swing this with the new ESD build.
That said, I have to echo the requests above to also have it added to the Transwarp list. It would make it a 100 times more useful.
Stuck in the middle of Borg space and need some advice? (or check the Exchange :P) Hitting the Transwarp button simulates, "Hmm, what's this odd door in the corridor? I never noticed it before." Bingo - you're at the Captain's Table. When you finish there, you end up back on your ship in Borg space again where you started (works just like Transwarping to Fleet Starbases - making it especially useful for those folks who don't belong to a Fleet).
