New Rep system Rip off.

This post will possibly make peoples blood boil. I did a quick add up on how much it has cost players in Dilith, Omega marks & BNP's to get the equip in OMEGA rep. Oh my god. the figures are outstanding. This is what PWE/Cryptic has stolen from us by not adding any rep projects to upgrade this equip or give us bk what we spent.

To make all 7 set on ground & space thats is 14 sets & that is 21 items for ground & space. Thats 41 items. My god. Thats not many Items I bet ur thinking. But here is the kick in the teeth. These Figures I am about to show u for what u needed to get them old mk 10-11 items to be able to unlock the mk 12 items & adapted gear. So this is overall figures of every item in OMEGA Rep:

240 BNP's
31500 OM's
891500 Dilith

Shocking isn't it. I feel so ripped off.

Although I do like the new rep system as it is easier to get items now. I do feel a bit ripped off by fact that there are no projects to either get ur Items u spent on these projects back or to at least upgrade them to mk 12 at least. i can't be the only 1 feeling this way about the new rep system with the old 1 ripping us off.

I don't really get your point honestly...

Of course it costs a lot. Thats what it is for? I mean Dillithium is primarily there to be spend on such things.

    And no upgrade... AND?

Why you bough a MK11 or 10 set you knew you bough a mk11 or 10 and not a Mk12 set. You couldn't upgrade them in the old system and they are not taken away, you still have exactly what you bought knowingly. And its not like they would work any worst now. Content is still the same.

And honestly... did you need to buy all sets? I don't. Especially not the low MK versions. Most ppl skipped them in the first place for good reason, and that is why they have been removed.

I understand that people feel ripped off by the inability to equip the same number of powers after all the work that went into that. I can relate to that.
But your arguments... I can not sympathize with that at all....

Cause back in the day of the old rep system. You had no choice in matter. Even if u got to Tier 5 U still had to buy the Mk 10-11 Omega & MACO to be able to buy the Mk 12 versions & then u needed to buy them to unlock the Mk 12 Adapted sets.

So point is I grinding my butt off on old rep for nothing. Has now on new rep system. once u got T5 rep u can build Adapted gear straight off.

Thats the point I am trying to make. I spent all that on gear I had to buy if I wanted the mk 12 items. that I had no choice in on the old rep but to buy & PWE/Cryptic aint even offering an upgrade on the old gear with what they have done to the new rep system.

AGAIN I Like the new rep system. It makes the game feel less grindy & more manageable. So good job on the new rep system by PWE/Cryptic. But this fact of the past is just wrong & a major injustice to all old players that had to grind like hell to get this stuff.

Sorry to say, but you signed the TOS. Which means the powers that be can do whatever they want, whenever they want.

I bought a Hermes back in the day when it was 200k dilithium, then they released the Mirror version which was about 20k ec. I also bought the regular Vo'Quv for 200k dil and they released a superior Mirror version for a small amount of ec. I did tons of STFs for VR borg weapons that never really worked properly. I've had VR consoles which were invalidated by fleet consoles. Entire builds invalidated by updated mechanics.

Needless to say, plenty of my stuff has been invalidated and has left me feeling pretty stupid for wasting resources on said stuff. But I can say I have never once paid a dime for anything, and I've learned how to grind with minimal time investment. So now the invalidation of my stuff doesn't bother me at all anymore. Since I stockpile resources across my alts, I always have enough to get whatever I need now.

My suggestion, don't give them any money, you'll be happier.

You did not have to buy the mk 10-11 versions of STF sets in pre-S9 rep system to unlock mk XII rep gear you just had to be the right tier to buy them, and then as well as now you needed to own the mk xii grd set to unlock the adapted version. unless you are talking about costume/accolades and in pre-s9 you could purchase both style 1 and 2 if you owned the mk xii version without the need to own a mk x-xi version.

And back in the day of pre-rep system the only reason people bought mk xi ground sets was because they were tired of waiting on that last piece of very rare salvage to drop so they would spend their EBCs to buy a mk xi to tide them over. I remember running CGE for 6months before getting the weapon salvage drop on 1 particular alt.

Isn't that what grind is? What, you're expecting to pay pennies for your end game gear?

And where did you get this wisdom from? Because it's a complete lie. You could go straight for Mk 12s without buying the inferior sets first. If you did buy them... well, I wonder who told you to do so.

My only issue, is that as a casual player with a couple of alts, I had several toons "working" on either X or XI versions of several Omega pieces ... When the change went through and those "sets" were dropped, I had already spent a great deal of currency and time on filling the requirements, with Dil, XP, and SSSB's and what not ...

Once the new system went into play, I could no longer finish those sets, so I ended up with several X or XI armours, shields and weapons, that can now not be made into part of a set, as the set bonuses don't work between versions. (which I thought I'd read somewhere that they were going to implement?)

What would be nice is if Cryptic at least offered an "upgrade" option, for a price ... I'm not expecting it to be free, ... but it could be costed at the difference between the old Dil/BNP/XP/EC cost and the new.

Either that, or start offering the X and XI versions as optional rewards on mission replays.
