Hey cryptic.. why don't you start testing out these new rep abilities, etc.. in cloaked vessels for a change. What good does omega kinetic shearing do for a b'rel (i.e. fire when cloaked ship) when it decloaks them during activation?
In fact, why don't you just hop on over to a KDF starbase and get yourself a cloaker and see which powers should and should not decloak a b'rel on use..... mmm'kay? Cuz there are too many of them.
thx

I'm tired of being their beta tester for free. I put good money into this game, and despite my tone, they now have the information they need. Besides, I am KDF and I don't expect for it to get fixed within the next 3 years, because somewhere, there is a fed's combadge that doesn't chirp.

While this bug is annoying, it is no where near as bad as your attitude towards Cryptic in this post.
I too, hate the trait effect doing the drop out of cloak for 3 seconds when it procs, but I'm not going to resort to blatant arrogant name calling.
As for what good does the proc do for a B'rel, well, I've found my B'rels (yes, more than 1) work just fine without it. I have YouTube videos of me killing UPF players in a B'rel long before flanking came out - so the trait is not needed, so it's not a problem really.
I am sure they will be very receptive to your post, while you're writing in a clearly disrespectful tone.
The internet is tone deaf. The post contains information that is useful in the feedback process. That's all it needs to do. Now either Smirk can pass that info along or a dev can read the post and get the info.

Everything else is ancillary and not important.
You don't sit around, doing alot of software development, do ya?
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
it is information. just information. how you perceive it is up to you.
plus yes i am aware of how annoying that is... being on the receiving end of one of those users attempted alpha strikes being ruined because of the procs...
i promptly proceeded to tear him to pieces. He was quite upset that he proceeded to try again... and again... and again... not sure why i could see him coming...
Think for a moment about 2 or 3 young guys sitting in a small room trying to do QA for STO. Because that's what they've got and you can imagine that their tiny QA dept. has more than its hands full. With the number of people they have, it's impossible for them to catch and correct bugs with the deadlines they have for getting new content out and it's impossible for them to fix bugs in a timely manner once they are found post release.
They're basically in damage control mode at all times putting out fires and trying to address the most game breaking bugs and maybe getting to smaller ones here and there when they can. I'm not making excuses or apologizing for this stuff, just think we need to real about the situation and understand who we're talking to.
It will at least help to have some acceptance and peace with yourself when you realize that Cryptic is a small company with a small QA team.
I had a game breaking bug where in PvP matches my chase camera would break and swivel on its axis back and forth non stop when I was making turns at speed in escorts and reported it in every possible way: bug report in forum, in game, on twitter. Even spoke to a QA guy by tweet and he said "hey nice account you've got some great ships and builds but I cant seem to duplicate the problem so good luck with that". So I had a choice to either accept it and move on or quit and walk away.

Beta testers get paid? Then I'm owed some money here.
Indeed, beta testing is typically restricted distribution to a group. This is not beta level in the first place as it's general availability. Those on Tribble are beta testers.

If you want to perceive my attitude as bad, then that is your prerogative. I am a KDF and I am used to cryptic's treatment of KDF... which means I didn't start it.. so if you want to perceive the tone of my feedback as negative and bad, then that is up to you. I am simply giving them the information.. if they want to punish all KDF based upon a perceived negative post, then so be it.

still have this bug and so do many other people. it is created when you follow target and when you pass a target too closely and too fast, the camera tries to quickly follow the target and gets stuck in an infinite loop of camera spasms where it repeats the same 'swivel' over and over again. (best way I can describe it)

I am fairly certain you are a human playing a game and not a member of the KDF. If you believe you are a member of the KDF you should probably seek professional help before you hurt yourself or someone else.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

How many times recently have we turned into inadvertent beta testers when something goes live on holodeck?
The recent Romulan portion of the anniversary, for instance.
That was a huge one, made all the worse by not being hard to replicate at all.
A single test run would have revealed it. Just one dev actually playing the mission.
Tribble, as the test server, does get used but its usually in a haphazard way.
Worth noting however that Adjudicatorhawk's recent changes to the trait and kit system were tested far more carefully on tribble than usual.
Which goes to show that this can be done.
It seems to me that the problem with using tribble as the beta test platform is its voluntary nature.
If you can get enough players testing things there, being systematic about things, actively looking for bugs.....and if that feedback is properly taken on board by Cryptic. Again, something they've shown both the ability to do well and the ability to do abysmally at in the past.
I think one way forward would be, when releasing content to tribble for test, if they also published on the forum a list of the specific aspects they needed testing.
We need ten players to try this is a variety of cloaked ships. Check.
We need a lot of players to see if they can save the captain. Check.
And so on....
And then, if tribble doesnt provide enough results for a thorough testing, then Cryptics devs can test content in a far more targetted way.
"I am an unpaid QA tester" is a complaint that has nothing to do with fixing anything.
If you're just venting, this place is as good as any I guess. But don't expect it to get any serious attention.
If you want something fixed, provide the right feedback in the right location.
Fixing powers that cause cloak to drop is feedback that belongs in the "Builds, Powers, and Game Mechanics" forum. The Devs need to know which powers and possibly what ship you're flying. Go post a respectful and detailed post over there and you just might get a response.

yeah, which is another problem.. I am reporting it how I want... I don't expect anything other than to get the information out there. I don't like using your ticket system. We lost a lot of functionality with it when it was converted to PWE's system.
Do what you want with the information, I don't care...move it to where it needs to be.. again, I don't care. I am sure someone will come along and use your ticket system and report it the way you want it reported.

See, things like this is why I said you have a bad attitude, it's all self centered 2 year old tantrum screaming.
A forum moderator explained what to do and how to do it - and, frankly, you're just being rude over it with all that "how I want" and "I don't care".
Remember, to get respect, you generally have to give it first.
And, as was posted by another mod, if you think you are so great and can do it better - they are taking staff on, go on loud mouth, man up and go bug test and fix the game. :P
(oh, and posting this in the correct forums has nothing to do with the ticket system - again, just being a child throwing a tantrum with that attitude)

not looking for respect... not looking for another job because I already get paid more than a QA analyst makes... not going to post anywhere else because someone probably already has.. don't care about how my internet 'attitude' is perceived by people I don't know... you are not family, friends, or co-workers and will probably never meet you... please, go hijack another thread.

It decloaks the user because same as the gravity well aftershock it treats the shearing as a new attack and "blip" decloaks on B'rel/T'varos with EBC.

You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! I have been an illustrator, writer, page designer, graphic designer and web designer for the past 20 years.
Which means I have no context on criticism, critiques, feedback, customer support, dealing with users, or listening to people talk about my work.
Oh. Wait.
I literally fell out of my chair laughing at this. Thanks!
