Now I did read several blogs about players are low on EC how to earn more !!!
First of a few tips of myself :
1. When you win drops don't sell them with you replicator you lose about 10% of the price, First if it is a green or blue item go to the exchange see what the asking price is for example :
Best sell is Mk VI and Mk VIII at the moment those prizes are pretty high.
Warpcores are pretty expensive at Mk XI or XII you can earn these alot in STF's Space
If it isn't really worth to put it on the exchange deliver it to a vendor to get a good price, if you see a ferengi salesman on Drozana Station sell it to him gives you bit better price than ESD or Qo'nos vendors.
Also watch exchange carefully sometimes there people need a quick sell so you see sometimes prizes almost 2 to 3 times lower than the rest, buy it if you gut the EC and put it up for the normal prize this way you make money, I think the ferengi would give me a medal for it...
But kick me to tell you these tips...
Also try not to use transwarp this cost you EC prizes up to even 20.000 EC so don't do it just travel the old fasion way by warp engines ....
Anymore people with handy tips on how to earn a few EC's ??

"Coffee: the finest organic suspension ever devised. It's got me through the worst of the last three years. I beat the Borg with it."
What I did was identify a rare and valuable doff, identify a cheaper way of obtaining it, and started selling them. It's worked out to the tune of a couple hundred million in the last week.
Remember not all people can afford to buy keys !!!
Buy contraband to swap for dil to swap for Zen to swap for keys to swap for EC.
Also Tour the Galaxy (even after its nerf) and Foundry Loot-o-matics. Some even reward Dil, which added onto Investigate Officer Reports is very handy.
Do the Doff (Duty Officer) recruitment missions, then sell them on the exchange. The value varies depending on the Doff's profession. A Trader is worth far less than Projectile Weapons Officer. I no longer accept white Doffs from recruiting missions for both my Fed toon and KDF toon.
My Fed toon has a total of 400 Doff slots and I currently have around 300 Doffs. I sometimes even sell green Doffs. My KDF toon only has 200 Doff slot at the moment... I am trying to hold off on buying another 100 Doff slots until there is a sale. I currently have 195 Doffs, the 5 free slots are used exclusively for recruited Doffs that will end up on the Exchange. Generally speaking the value of white Doff can range between 10k EC to 60k EC. I do recruitment missions to rank up my recruitment commendation level.
You can obtain contraband from doing certain Doff missions. KDF has much more opportunities to get contraband than the Fed. The Fed gets a few random ones that pop up like Confiscate contraband From Crew (Personal mission), Investigate Civilian Freighter (Trade / Military mission), Investigate Illegal Gambling (Espionage missions), and various Investigate Rumors Of Illegal Trades (Diplomatic missions). Upon success each one of this will give you one Contraband. A critical success can give you up to 3 Contraband from what I remember.
The KDF has far more options and they appear far more regularly compared to those in the Fed. There are no diplomatic missions for KDF, instead they have Marauding. The missions that can (but not always) give Contraband on a normal success includes Disable Freighter, Raid Facility, Attack Illegal ..., Ransack ...., and a few more I cannot remember.
My KDF toon has around 620 Contraband and my Fed toon has around 140 Contrand (half that is from my KDF toon) sitting in their inventories.
Contraband can be sold on the Exchange for 40k - 45k ECs.
=================================================
Convert Contraband to Dilithium Ore, Refine to Dilithium Crystal, Exchange to Zen, Buy Master Keys, then Sell Master Keys.
Contraband can also be converted to dilithium ore. Turn in 5 contraband to a security officer will reward you with 2,000 dilithium ore in 4 hours; this is a repeatable Doff mission as long as you have enough contraband to continue doing it. The ore can then be refined into dilithium crystals; a max of 8k per day.
Dilthium crystals can then be exchanged for Zen; the last time I checked 152 crystals converts to 1 Zen. You need 125 Zen to purchase a Key (about 19k dilithium crystals). A key can currently be sold on the exchange for about 2.5 million ECs.
Assuming you diligently get and refine 8k dilithium per day for 30 days, that means at the end you will have 240,000 dilithium crystals. Assuming the exchange rate of 152 Dilthium crystals to 1 Zen is constant for 30 days, that means you basically end up with about 1,579 Zen. Using that you can purchase a 10 pack of keys for 1,125 Zen and another 3 keys for 375 Zen for a total of 1,500 Zen.
Assuming the price of a key sold on the exchange is always 2.5 million, then at the end of 30 days you can sell your 13 keys for 32.5 million EC.
I forgot to mention that there are plenty of ways to earn dilithium ore in the game. Other than turning in contraband. Like STF missions, Foundry missions and various daily missions.
Build up your reputations, then wait till the dil weekends to run the last mission that rewards the dil. Also there are those "Continued Support" hour-long rep missions that let you turn 15 marks into 340 dil plus a reward box. Between those two and stocking up on contraband, on the last bonus-dil weekend I got 2 million dil in 4 days. Its all quite farmable once you work out an efficient procedure to do so.
The new mission you do it four or five times you can easily earn 1.000.000 EC.
But good thing try to earn dilithium exchange it for zen to buy keys and sell that on the exchange.
Also get around DS9 and do the dog fights on the map you can earn Mk VIII stuff green and blue you can sell that for a very good prize to.
If you do a tour around the galaxy you can earn also !!!

I've tried selling half a contraband but so far the Exchange won't let me list it.
Contraband is doing about 40.000 EC / 46.000 EC I believe if you go to the duty assignment on DS9 3 pieces you get dilithium for it not sure how much at the moment...

Don't forget to do the foundry mission loot'omatic or something like that.
1st place in cce, sb24, gorn minefield, ect for the mk x & xi very rare drops.
I no longer accept white Doffs from recruiting missions for both my Fed toon and KDF toon.
This may be unwise, since white-quality doffs are an essential requirement for many fleet starbase upgrade projects... and those projects can consume a lot of doffs. As a result, white doffs are surprisingly pricey these days. Not in the millions, I grant you, but they run to five or even six-figure sums, which I personally would be chary of throwing away.
Selling 812.50 contraband for 40k EC each will also give you 32.5 million EC.
That means you need to get about 27 contraband on average per day for 30 days doing Doff missions.
That is impossible for a Fed toon and can be pretty challenging for a KDF toon even with a lot of blue and purple quality Doffs.
Quantity > quality here.
I have a lot of characters (most are kdf), and can produce about 40 contra on a good day. It takes about 15 min logging into each one and managing it (I do this 3 times a day).
FYI, rates...
40 contra is 1.6 mil EC.
40 contra is 16000 dil which is almost one key's worth depending on the rates (its been 140-155 this last week or so). A key is 2.5 mil (?) last time I looked (?).
So selling contra is not as good as converting it to keys... almost twice as poor..

I am not in a fleet so I really do not have a particular need for white Doffs. I still have some white Doffs though, many of them are bound to my character so I cannot sell them on the Exchange. I will keep them until I find an appropriate blue to replace them with. Each toon has a white security officer though which I will likely keep, their sole purpose is to turn in contraband for the 2,000 dilithium ore reward. No need to "waste" a higher quality security officer since there is no such thing as a chance for critical success in those missions.
Should I decide to join a fleet, then I will likely buy another 25 Doff slots used solely to collect white Doffs to be donated to fleet projects.

If you send them off the roster you get dillitium for them not much I believe 8 dillitium a piece

The best way to earn profit is to purchase things for less than they are worth, and in doing so, to buy equity at a discount.
Either things that are priced less than their market price, or things that are priced less than the expected value of opening them.
Some profitable activities only involve waiting, some involve work.
Yeah, you can look at the Exchange for some potential deals however, it involves some risk so try not excessively play the market otherwise you may end up loosing far more than bargained for.
I have made some decent money selling things like the Mirror Universe Qin Heavy Raptor. I generally buy a few when I see a lot that have been listed on the Exchange for a relatively low price. I bought some at about 450k EC and sold them for 800k EC. I could have priced them higher, but that also means they could potentially be sitting on the Exchange for a longer period of time... perhaps long enough that more Qins are listed and drives down the price, thus losing an opportunity to sell.
I did something similar with the Mirror Universe Heavy Cruiser, unfortunately I had planned to keep one for myself, but I did not realize I listed my last one the Exchange. It was sold in a few days and I did make a profit, but I would have preferred to keep it.
Be aware that changes to the game can also affect prices as well. In season 8.5 I made a decent amount of EC trading Antiproton Beam Arrays. I generally buy them when they listed for 550k EC or less. They were pretty popular in season 8.5, and I have been able to sell them for 850k EC to 1.2 million EC. But... season 9 was released and a new more potent weapon the Fluidic Antiproton Beam Array is now popular. That caused the price of the "old" Antiproton Beam Arrays to crash. Many people still list them for at season 8.5 prices, they now generally sell for around 400k EC the last time I checked.
I still have 6 of the "old" Antiproton Beam Arrays that 2 of which are listed on the Exchange for about 500k EC which means I am attempting to sell them at small loss... I might drop the price down to 400k EC just to get rid of them, but overall I have made a tidy profit on buying low and selling high on those weapons. Accepting losses to get rid of inventory is part of the game.
If you send them off the roster you get dillitium for them not much I believe 8 dillitium a piece
Not really worth it in my opinion. I rather simply sell white Doffs on the Exchange to get EC.
If I want a little bit more dilithium, then I will simply do an additional Borg eSTF which rewards 960 dil.
Ahh.. Borg eSFTs... I remember playing them multiple times per day for a chance to get multiple BNP drops. Nowadays I probably only play them 3 time a day to fill my dilithium quota since only 1 BNP is awarded per mission.
Anymore people with handy tips on how to earn a few EC's ??
Lazy person's way:
1- Run any of the loot-o-matic missions in the foundry.
2- Sell the drops to the vendor. (Keeping in mind your point about not doing it from your own replicator).
3- Run the Undine Space Battlezone.
4- Sell the drops.
Also, a slightly more targeted thing, it's pretty old so probably well known, but still works:
Every day repeat the Breen Featured Episodes to get the Breen space set. Vendor it.
Now I did read several blogs about players If it isn't really worth to put it on the exchange deliver it to a vendor to get a good price, if you see a ferengi salesman on Drozana Station sell it to him gives you bit better price than ESD or Qo'nos vendors.
Are you sure about it? Those ferengi in old Drozana station used to tell you that they will give you 50% of the orignal price (like vendors in ESD or Qonos) but they used to give you 35% - 40%.

Ain't Nobody Got Time for That
Yeah, just visited Ferengi douchebags. Went to Marik and did the deal.
The normal cost of shield battery is 200
He offered 100, like any other vendor
Guess how much I got? 60
Same story with Neven and Orpek
Odnek offered 80 and gave 80. Honest ferengi but still ripped me off for 20.
So I am not sure from where did you get the idea that those jiveturkies in Drozana give you a better deal than the usual vendors, unless I am missing something?

500zen of dilithium is only a few days of work. 4 keys = 10,000,000ec on the exchange. Works very well for me. This would be the non subscriber cap.

Dilithium has a refine limit... dilithium is needed for repu gear and for fleet gear...wich is sick...
atleast in fleet and reputation they should make able to use ore...since only to get 1 piece of undine gear i need to refine a few days...
(( and no not everyone makes a load of chars and want to farm for days only to bypass the refinement cap...))
Especially not at 3 million per key. WTF?
