Just a little confused and/or worried as wasn't it supposed to be released earlier, when the last season or half-season went live, like with the Raider flanking tech?
I take it that this is still in development, which I understand completely. I'd rather it be the best it can be, although some mention of it to indicate that it's still coming would be good.
Unlike Cruiser Commands and Raider Flanking there is a lot of different Secondary Deflector gear to be developed.
That's what's wholding them up i guess.
last news on it i heard said DURING season 9, not at launch, but with that season. so we should get it in the next 3-6 weeks.
Ah, okay. That clears things up a bit. I did say that I understand why it might be taking a good chunk of time, so I hope that the rest of the development goes well.
I hope they're decent when they come out. I'm not a fan of the Dyson hybrids, and I didn't do the grind to get the free one so have never used them. My Vesta sure can't wait to get one though, what's the betting they have some with a new fleet holding in S10/exp 2? Would think they'll just seed the standard ones into the game to start with.

remember, raider flanking was released for testing longer than the Secondary Deflectors. you cant expect them to release ONE ship with them, and have every single other ship of that type to get it the next major update. its not like they didnt have other things to pre-occupy themselves during that time.
Edit: Not to mention, they are putting a lot of new items in the game. i wouldnt be surprised if they got Rep Secondary Deflectors being put in as well.
they said there were 4 main types.... the rep ones could be hybrid between the styles.

Care to explain this for me, not heard a thing about this besides a few comments but i was under the impression they where just adding a second deflector slot to all sci ships, (we know it works because there was a bug ages back that allowed it, as well as 2 shields and so on), what about that requires new items.

I'd find this more believable if the Kit Revamp hadn't gone live to the tune of "And oh yeah, we'll add basic ones to vendors later on. No really, we will. Eventually."
Expect Secondary Deflectors to go live with 1 "good" one available in the latest rep, 2 lackluster ones as drops, and a promise to add more later.

Don't worry when they remake the Fleet Deep Space Science Vessel (complete with Cstore Version) I'm sure they will release another secondary deflector with it

if you would have paid attention to the loadout of the Dyson Destroyer when flying the free one in "A Step Between Stars".... let alone the blog dedicated to the dyson destroyers, you would have realized this.
At a guess i'd say that there will be various types to compliment the different playstyles currently in use.
So drain (really the solanae one fills this slot), shield stripping, healing and maybe crowd control and possibly shutdowns.
As the soloanae one seems to aim squrely for a very specialized build i'm guessing that is what these further types will do to but with more variety to choose from.
Personally i'd like to see a couple that can be used for buffing a grav well, so one for particle gens and one for grav gens. Then i can swap them out depending on who i'm fighting.
Well it is a business.
And were you saying that when they added warp/singularity cores?
I was on a massive break at the time so i wasn't around to say anything. And if it hadn't been for the kit roll-out i wouldn;t be saying this. But when they basically tell you, "get drops or spend dil" for kits now i don't expect any different for Secondary Deflectors.

See above. Haven't played that one yet, not got round to catching up on the episodes so far, only been back a few weeks.

Baring a rare DOFF mission that is exactly how we had to gain warp and singularity cores. If the secondary deflectors work along the same route then I wouldn't be surprised to see a DOFF mission for them as well.

You can buy kit modules for Energy Credits from ground gear vendors.
Added. Point being, they did release Season 9 without and had to come along playing clean-up. Standard practice when following The Cryptic Way no matter how much the White Knights want to claim otherwise.

It's just The Cryptic Way.
They *have* added basic modules to vendors.

But seriously I hope they do have some good powers and there are some dps related ones that are more then just a shield drain, since drains suck.
