Just wondering if other people feel the same, I know its meant to be new content but compared to the BORG stfs the undine ones just seem to be a time grind. For instance the one with the three channels you have to fly up while supporting a command ship to unlock the gates is overly complicated.
Then the 15 minutes to gank the planet killer for no good reason than it takes 15 minutes (k maybe 10 but its still a boring fight)
don't know what others feel about it but I just feel the whole undine STF lacklustre and just a time sink than actual content.
I entirely agree. Also, the reward vs time is extremely low, as usual. And finally, the Undines in space are the most boring NPC ever. Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles, snare, and teleport. So much fun.
Viscous cycle is just your typical straightforward mission. The placement of the planet killers does make it a bit annoying to target.
Where did Cryptic get the idea of 3 lanes with a 5 man team for Undine Assault? It could have just been 1 tougher lane, or 5 lanes, 1 for each person. Or make it a 10 man with 5 lanes, 2 players per lane. I mean, what were you smoking there Cryptic?
Honestly I have not run them at all. From what I hear in feedback from the pve's I'm fleet chat and what I've experienced in the battlezone I just get all my marks from the battlezone every few days in less than an hour per toon with little frustration other than lag.
"If this will be our end, then I will have them make SUCH an end as to be worthy of rememberance! Out of torpedos you say?! Find me the ferengi!".
My fleet mates and I have been running them for the undine marks. But honestly they are lacking somthing.
I'm not sure what it is, but they realy arnt that fun. Neither are the voth events. The borg STF's have got somthing, not sure what, that the latest events dont.

Indeed! And I thought the Breen, Tholians, and Voth were tedious!
Anyway, with all the snares and bubble spamming with no reliable counter, plus all the lag it produces, I haven't bothered with Undine rep. Why do a rep that rewards gear and passives/actives geared towards a race that has very little in the way of good content, that I never play anyway??

Tension curve.
Borg STFs have an escalating tension built into the encounter where it creates a sense of urgency as you are playing it while constantly increasing the difficulty just a little bit with well placed 'lulls' in the action so to speak.
The voth and undine missions completely lack that well designed pacing element. Power creep has eliminated it from the borg ones but that is another matter.

The chunk of dilithium at tier five, some more options for traits, a space ability at tier five, a chunk of random gear with some nice phasers and disruptors, space sets that finally buff phasers and disruptors.....did I miss anything?
the artwork and environments are ******* stunning! but the gameplay and scenario design? not so much.
Scenario is fine IMO. We don't need much for queued mission, and we have the opportunity to see places we've never seen. Or not so much.
Design is always a problem. Remember atmospheric assault ? Awesome place, bad design. Same for many queued missions with nobody playing them.
Cryptic is so scared to make new stf as rewarding as borg stf (which is probably too rewarding in their mind, but they can't nerf it without an outcry, as it already happened before), they never add enough rewards.
Those STF are quickly joining the long list of forgotten queued content.
Just wondering if other people feel the same, I know its meant to be new content but compared to the BORG stfs the undine ones just seem to be a time grind.
Infiltration is probably the coolest ground event they've done in ages. Kudos for that. Totally fun and I do it frequently.
Undine Assault, is ok. The planet killer boss is boring. Much like the gateway and tact cube in the Borg STF is boring.
Viscous Cycle is in between for me. It can be fun. It can also be annoying. I like the Gelki optional. I don't like the other optionals that much.
Still, people keep coming back to the Borg STFs.
They're old. They're VERY VERY boring this many years later. I'm happy to move on from them. They only thing I find them useful for is the dilithium they reward.
I entirely agree. Also, the reward vs time is extremely low, as usual.
Nah, their reward is in line with all the other activites save the Borg STFs. Which means that's the odd one out. Those STFs' rewards are too high. But people do them the most and expect everything else to give out the same benchmark. But none of the others do.

There are other way to earn marks. Like the battlefield, or the ground mission, for the undines, and it reward more. Eppoh for the rom marks, battlefield for the voths (and you'll earn more dil than you can refine),...
The queued content are usually the slowest way to earn those marks, except for the crystalline entity, and OFC for the borg rep.

Not really.
Ce elite rewards as much as the stfs without optionals, which isn't a surprise since it has no optional.
There is no elite romulan missions.
Puts only the voth elites in line with the undine in terms of low rewards, and people have the exact same complaint about them since day one.
But the rewards for the other stuff is ridiculously low anyway.
Id of rather seen a ground battle then the space. Its just way too much pew pew going on in these things. Don't get me wrong its nice to see a space battlezone but this game cant handle it. Youll be lucky to even see your own weapon fire at times.
I actually enjoy the Undine Assault mission...but you gotta have a team of people who know what they're doing
This is the biggest problem. I've only completed this stf once, and thtlat was on normal, just to get a feel for it and figure out how it works. Every time I try it on elite, someone ends up leaving, or people split up and try to do whole lanes on their own. Its really a ridiculous mission. Its not like we have a bunch of strategists or brainiacs playing. I apologize to all those who think otherwise, but it needs to be simplified. I'd say keep the three lanes, but make it so only 1 is active at a time, and reduce either undine strength or numbers (preferably the latter, I like how tough each individual ship is). And I know people are gonna start with their flame threads and the classic 'don't try to pug it' TRIBBLE, but I don't like playing with other players. I hate having to rely on someone else to do something. Maybe cryptic can find a way to take the current stfs and make single player versions of all of them?
I agree...it boils down to one thing. The Battlezone is both more fun and more rewarding.
UA is ok but little reason to farm it...run it when you're bored and have a group you know won't derp. Or maybe just when you're really bored.
Vicious Cycle was not terribly well thought out. Pretty much an avoid at all costs. The things we have to kill are below our ships...in a game that limits the vertical angle we can point our ships. If you are flying a large cannon boat...my sympathies

What else do you expect from an enemy whose battle tactics involves hocking giant loogies, and releasing giant TRIBBLE bubbles? :P
Those stupid bubbles are as annoying as being frozen by the Breen in ground combat. Gravity Well and tractor beams doesn't even hold you as long as those stupid things.
I actually enjoy the Undine Assault mission...but you gotta have a team of people who know what they're doing
UAE is potentially the most retardedly easy elite STF there is in the game. Provided people just follow the Command Vessels. If they don't and just move around and shoot like 99% of the PUGs do, you will fail, and no amount of personal skill and overpowered build on your behalf will save it.
VCE would not be a problem if it wasn't for the angles of attack for the shipyards and how limited player ship movement truly is. Cannon users will be driven insane. Beamboats will have a better time. Targetable projectiles, which include mines, Breen Clusters, etc., mostly like to circle around above the shipyard and do nothing. So only Beams and non-targetable projectiles are left as your reliable weapons. I don't mind the yellow goo, though it does get stupid with some massive spam at times. But a fast flying Escort should have no issues. Cruisers and such can shrug it off or ride it out. But HE+Evasive Maneuvers will get you out. APO still is the Get-Out-Of-Jail Card.
UIE though isn't bad. I prefer doing this to knock out my daily.
Oddly enough, I don't mind the fluidic portals and snot bubbles. It's the first AoE snare from an NPC that actually does its job. I can appreciate that...

I tried UAE once, it was annoying. not challenging at all, just annoying.
I liked VCE even though my BoP had problems using it's cannons well. I didn't have to wait on everyone staying on the same line to get around to the one I was trying to do.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
I honestly have hated the Undine Space events since Day One. The only reason I play them is to get the accolades and that's it. I get far more Undine Reputation Marks through the Space Battlezone with a fraction of the frustration.
Undine Assault - I would say it sounds good on paper, but the way it was done was terrible implementation. Two words bests describes this - spam and boring.
Also, I'm still annoyed that I gave that Ferengi 3000 GPL and he didn't do squat. So Cryptic put in a money grind that completely rips you off.
Viscous Cycle - Snotballs and being knocked around constantly, talk about annoying. And on top of it, they make the Undine Reputation Impulse Engine to negate this fludic space effect for this one event, not worth the trouble to get it.
Also they have yet to fix the bugs associated with this event. Like the Anomaly and people not ever getting that optional complete. Or how sometimes the Optional Planet Killer just doesn't appear. Then there is those "Maws" that have more HPs than the Planet Killer itself, so you just sit there shooting ........zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Oh and those mysterious 1-shot kill explosions, yeah that's fun too, I guess they never learned how players hate that with the STFs.
Undine Infiltraiton - Fun at first, but it's just boring now. The script is always the same, the only randomization is the Undine going to different tunnel entrances. That's it.
So guessing how few people are playing these events, even after a week. I'm pretty confident to say these Undine events are a complete flop.

Haven't tried the others yet. Largely because I tend to just do the space battlezone.
