I put this in general discussion because it applies to all factions. I'm talking about TIER 5 ships here. I realize examples like the Valdore console, plasmonic leech, etc are very much recommended.
But which TIER 5 ship consoles, the ones that can only be put on their original ship or it's fleet variant, are worth keeping and using?
For example, I've found that I can go quite comfortably ditching the Bortasqu's disruptor autocannon, the Regent's gas canisters, and even the Scimitar's cloaked barrage.
What consoles should I difiinitely be using?
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

None, other than the 2 you mentioned which aren't tier 5. Everything else aren't worth the console slot they take up.
Considering that these consoles can be easily reclaimed at any time, I've stopped keeping stuff that I don't use.
I dumped the Cansiters too, plus the Vesta Eng console, and the Antimatter Spread (technically from the Tier 4 Galaxy).
The rest get used regularly enough that I use/store them.

Vesta consoles are pretty good for the Vesta. That AoE heal can be a big help, the Quantum Field Focus Phaser gives a nice, sustained phaser burst, and the bubble thing I can't remember the name of can push things around and send torpedoes back. And the full set bonus gives you a temp invulnerability shield that is good for getting out of a furball.
The Metreon Gas from the Regent takes some getting used to, but if you're already profecient in the use of Theta Radiation or Warp Plasma, it's a decent console. Not only does it give a speed/turn debuff, you can detonate it for plasma damage. Sometimes I park next to a Borg Transformer, dump a load of Metreon, then when everyone starts attacking it when the generators go down, I detonate.
I'm still getting used to the mine laying cruise missile console from the Mogh, so I don't really know what to say about that one.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

It doesn't matter anyways if you're not a hardcore PvPer.
I personally enjoy some of the Gimmick-consoles, such as the Avenger's VATA. Performance-wise there's no real point in using it, i'm just equipping it for that big bang.
And as i said, in a PvE environment you can use anything you like, you will be able to do the content anyways...

Yeah, I don't PVP very often at all. I use some of the Tier 5 consoles, but slowly for some ships I'm learning I can maximize a build a bit better overall by using something else in that console slot. I guess continued experience will tell.
