is protonic polaron and antiproton considered proton weapons?

Some items give a +% damage on proton weapons, but there is only really 2 completely proton weapons, there is a debate among a few I know if the bonuses to proton damage affect protonic polarons and antiprotons. I always thought no because AP is it's own unique thing and protonic polarons were considered only to be polaron weapons. Unless I am incorrect?

no, proton has nothing to do with anti proton or protonic polaron (which are polaron anyway)

so you are correct in your previous assumption.

Antiproton and proton are seperate energy types. Not including the generic all beams or all cannons. You can buff one straight or buff the other straight with tactical consoles.

protonic polarons do two damage types. the main one is polaron and the less one is proton. as far as i know the console only buffs the extra proton damage.

nor does it do anything to antiproton.

i think the extra cannon on the dyson science destroyer, plus the experimental proton weapon in the dyson rep is the only weapons with proton as the main damage type.

getting different answers, most say AP is just AP and not P, which is fine

but different answers on protonic polaron

The proton barrage from the dyson set, as well. Although that's a clicky, not an actual installed weapon. The tholian web console from the lockbox ship also deals proton damage, but that's also a clicky, not an actual weapon.

Antiproton is buffed by Antiproton damage. The only part of the Protonic Polaron weapons buffed by Proton Damage is the Proton element to them.

The polaron part of the weapon is buffed by polaron damage, the proton part is buffed by proton damage. You can conceivably buff both, by running Polaron Phase Modulators for the Polaron Part, and throwing in that special Dyson console that buffs the Proton part of the weapon.

A close comparison could be Plasma Torps. Ambiplasma Envelope console buffs the kinetic damage Plasma torps deal, but the Plasma damage is buffed by Plasma damage and your Particle Generators skill.

I hope this is answers your question.

I'm pretty sure Particle Generators don't affect the plasma damage dot and the second part they fixed with LoR, the only things that will effect the plasma dot and weapon damage now is the Romulan Science consoles and the 2 piece Singularity Harness set.
