With 5 very rare Mk. XII antiproton consoles, the 2 piece Ancient Obelisk set, Attack Pattern Alpha, Tactical Fleet, EPtW1, Fire on my Mark, and 125 weapon power the "Planet Killer" only does about 18k damage on it's first hit. It's two consecutive hits do half as much, and then half as much again.
It takes 4 or 5 seconds to charge up and I could do more damage than that in the same time period with my beam arrays. IMO the damage should be doubled. I admit it looks cool, but it's just a bit of a let-down when it hits.
Thew Scimitar's thalaron weapon is incredibly weak too. So is the Galaxy dreadnought's phaser lance (which also has the wonderful drawback of missing often). Ship based super-weapons in this game are gimmicky at best.
