Trade Training BO

forecaster17forecaster17 Member Posts: 47 Arc User
This is my current Borg BO set up ens: EMpower to shields 1, leut:engteam 2,leut commander:rev shield polarity 2,commander:aceton 3

what I want is to replace my leut commander ability from reverse shield polarity 2 to Emergency power to shields 3.When I tried to trade it to a engineering friend it stated that it could not be traded but my Jem'hadar BO and Aenar were able to enter the trading interface.
Is there ANY way I could train my borg BO in Empower to shields 3

BTW(I am a Tactical Captain and YES all there items were upequiped)

Does your friend have an Engineering Borg BO, too? If so, it's possible that that is why it couldn't be traded, since players can have only one active Engineering Borg BO.

There are two kinds of her. One comes from the C-Store / Exchange and is Tradable. The other comes from certain purchased versions of the game and is not Tradable.

Did your friend have an empty bridge officer slot? The boff goes into a player's active roster when traded instead of their candidate roster in the stations tab. If your friend had room then my only guess is that your boff is bound to character and can't be traded. Some special boffs are like that.

Looks like the liberated borg boff from the c-store does become bound to character after opening the box as I suspected. Source: http://sto.gamepedia.com/Federation_Liberated_Borg_Bridge_Officer#Acquisition_and_Claiming
Starting with Season 5, this officer became a single-character unlock when purchased from the C-Store. The officer now comes packaged in a crate, which can be traded between characters, players, or sold on the exchange. When the crate is opened, the officer becomes a candidate and is bound to that character.

I have at least 2 characters with a c-store liberated borg boff but I've never tried trading them to other players for training. Personally I choose only boff skills that I can train myself through captain training, or get from boff candidates from doff assignments and/or the exchange. That's just me though. :)

Well, that's just silly. Why would they do that? Caitians and Aenar are still tradeable for training. Why not LibBorg BOs?

I've never traded my BOs for training either. But I have trained other players' BOs for them.

Luckily I have another Engineering BO who is of purple quality and also happens to have aceton beam 3 as a commander ability, so I will simply ask my friend to train him as he is fully tradeable and put the borg BO in my ships leut slot so I keep her space passive.

I've never traded my BOs for training either. But I have trained other players' BOs for them.

Probably has something to do with the 'Efficient' trait the boff comes with. It doesn't make sense that you can trade the boff while still in the box and even sell it in the exchange but not as a candidate or commissioned officer.

And I too have trained boffs for other players on occasion.

Don't Saurians have "Efficient" as well? If so, that would seem to negate that as the reason.

Cryptic really needs to have a way to train other's boffs w/o needing to trade them. WoW solved this problem long ago.
