I'm having a problem staying alive in my Fleet B'rel. I've noticed simular ships seem to be alot more sturdy and don't die as easy. In Pvp Ill try to do alpha strikes, sometimes I do good sometimes not. But if im up against a Bug or T'varo they go through me Like exlax. If someone could give me a Few pointers on staying alive longer I would appreciate it. Heres my build.
Tactical/Fleet B'rel
Weapons are advanced Fleet disruptor (not Elite) Except for KCB and Dyson Torp
3 Piece Hpnor guard set
Elite Fleet hyper charged Warp Core MK XII (SEP) (A>W) [ACAP] [AMP] [SSS]
Engineer consoles, Enhanced Neutronium Alloy mk XII [+Turn]
Leech
Proton Partical Stabalizer
Assimilated Module
Science consoles, 3 Field Generators Very Rare MK II
Tactical Consoles, 3 Vulnerability Locator MK XII Disruptor
For My Bridge officers, 1 Tactical Romulan with the Superior Operatives Trait with skills,
TT1,TS2,RF2,APO3
The other 3 are Nausicann with Pirate Trait, and they are
Engineer, EPTE1,A2B1,EPTS1
Engineer, EPTW1,A2B1
Science, HE1,TSS2
Thats it, and I'm dying easy, I deal good damage but Im dying to quick and I feel like Im not really helping out the group. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, TY, Sorry for the way I layed things out, hope its not confusing.
B'rel is very fragile. You really need to supplement with some kind of getaway tool, either a boff ability like jam sensors, or a console device of some kind (cap burst, ams, whatever).
They are extremely flexible, potent weapons that play and handle like nothing else in the game. But the price is being as sturdy as eggshells in today's STO.
No amount of Neutroniums will keep you alive on that account. Your hullpoints, even after the buff to Raider hulls, are still quite low. And the B'Rel Retrofit & Fleet B'Rel still have the lowest hullpoints of them all.
Your shields are still not sturdy and cannot take the punishment.
Without getting into the technicality of what BOFF skills, sets, equipment, traits to use, I feel it's more of HOW you fly that will keep you alive in your BOP better.
1. Situational awareness
2. Mobility: The BOPs are not faster than the majority of Escorts. The JHAS is actually FASTER than the BOPs. But with good engine power and the very high turn rates of the B'Rel, you can be slippery if you need as you buy time for recloaking.
3. The moment you want to dogfight in a BOP in PVP, you're dead meat. Anything longer than an alpha strike and getting the hell out of town will increase your chances of getting picked out and killed. BOPs are too enticing a target... you have meager shields and hull and are very, VERY easy to pop. You also do not have the Freebie Escape Abilities that Overpowered Warbirds have. You are also buying time for an enemy player to sight in on you and do something to prolong your cloak timer or disable it outright. And a BOP with no cloaks is a DEAD BOP.
4. Stay with the team. Unless you're an experienced BOP user and have your **** together, BOPs may not perform as well alone. Again, you will be easy to single out for destruction. However, a BOP flying in a group? You get far more opportunities to apply your tactics using the rest of the team as a "screen." It's harder for the enemy to single you out when there's Cruisers, Carriers, and other ships that they have to contend with.
5. With the above point, however, never get comfortable, never feel safe. Because eventually, esp. if you've been effective, SOMEONE will be looking out for you. All they need is for you to drop out of cloaks and they got something special for you.
6. Watch for the "Snoopers" and capable Cloak Detectors. There's ways in finding you from a long ways away.
Also, I noticed you're doing A2B in a BOP. A word of warning, low Aux Power makes you very easy to detect even with cloaks applied, no matter what kind of BOFFs and Traits you're using. And you're using a Core with A->W in an A2B build, which regularly kills your Aux Power.

No rsp for emergencies? I personally feel naked without it when I pvp, instant recharge shields...i can't so without...then again..i pug
Get that shield out of there
.. fleet resiliant is what you need
Why no sci team or engineering team in the aux2bat build? Both would be huge over tss and epte.
