Uncommon duty officers

hyefatherhyefather Member Posts: 1,286 Arc User
I see the market for commons, rares and very rare duty officers but when it comes to uncommons I always have a problem getting rid of them, Nobody wants to buy uncommons. You cant donate them. Swaping them out for Lower or Higher duty officers cost dilthium and for uncommons the benifit doesnt outway the cost. I've been opening up some of the Reinforcement duty officer packs and now i'm loaded with uncommons. Would someone suggest a resonable way of clearing out my duty officer roster other than dismissing them.

Exchanging higher quality officers for lower quality ones doesn't cost dilithium (unlike other way around). Unless they changed that overnight. I use that option to get rid of uncommon doffs and donate common ones to fleet projects. Or alternatively sell them on exchange.

What would be a great thing for the players would be if cryptic allowed us to contribute uncommon duty officers to fleet projects that require common duty officers @ at 2 to 1 value.

Very Rare Duty Officer = 4x Common Duty Officer

Rare Duty Officer = 3x Common Duty Officer

Uncommon Duty Officer = 2x Common Duty Officer

I doubt many of us would want to contribute our rare and very rare duty officers to fleet projects but I'm pretty sure that we'd all have no problem contributing our Uncommon Duty Officers being worth 2 common.

Either the above or remove the Dilithium cost for upgrading doffs to the next quality level ;)

I dont like the above stated suggestion, the best is to exchange them at the academy before giving them as starbase food

1 uncommon (Green) gives 3 common (white) and 50 recruitment xp

1 rare (Blue) gives 3 uncommon (Green) and 50 recruitment xp

So that gives 1 rare (Blue)value is 9 commons (white) and 200 recruitment xp

To do anything else would be a loss and plain stupid..!!

This is what I do on a relatively new level 50 as I only get marks in dribs and drabs, so I donate the other stuff.

I save up the commodities I get from marauding which is mounting up now, and grind down green DOFFs I get from exchange missions. I also grind down others that I have too many off type wise, or I think are no use to me.

And what pray tell do players that have reached the maximum possible number of doffs of their roster do with their uncommon duty officers

    This and...

keep enough refugees on hand do the asylum missions, in most cases I'm usually getting at least a blue or purple. I've only once not received an officer.

If you have a spare character slot create a DOFFing alt for missions and grinding. Until needed use the DOFFs to get dil and when needed post off five, leaving them there to create space then send the commons and use them for the fleet projects. When done get the five you posted off back.

I agree with the suggestion of using the uncommons for fleet projects. I don't even care about the 2:1 part, just let me use them.

Well... I buy green Doffs from time to time when blue Doffs are extremely expensive. This is especially the case for my KDF toon since fewer player base means few and more expensive Doffs on the Exchange.

I have also been able to sell green Doffs on the Exchange. I usually undercut the lowest priced green Doff of that profession. If the Doff has not been purchased after 3 days, I check the current prices. I would then lower the price or simply exchange for white Doffs to be sold on the Exchange.... if I have enough slots.

I got plenty of empty Doff slots for my Fed toon; a little over 100 slots. However, I think I only have 9 free Doff slots for my KDF toon. I guess it's time to buy another 100 slots soon. Any white Doff I get via recruitment immediately goes on the Exchange.... I am not in a fleet.

True selling green doffs in not a problem but with eleven characters all full of doffs it can be quite time consuming

But being able to contribute uncommon doffs to fleet projects would only help to increase their value on the exchange and give players another outlet to make use of them.

I would not mind using the trade up option with my doffs if I were able to chose the upgraded duty officer that I would receive and on the same token I would not mind getting a random upgraded duty officer if I did not have to pay Dilithium for the privilege ;)

It's strange that we can use uncommon Trader Doffs for one fleet project but no other options for the rest that I'm aware of.

Well, the number of active toons to play with is a personal choice. I know I don't have the time to manage 11 toons. In fact, when I start my Romulan toon this weekend one of my 3 toons will go on reserve, meaning it only gets played a little bit every other day. Tt might be the Romulan toon or it could be Fed or KDF. I am thinking of getting to max level within 4 - 6 weeks so I don't necessarily have to activity play the Romulan toon every day.

There's not enough time in the day for me to play all 11 characters but running doff missions only takes about 30-45 min.

Yeah I like creating alts and I've been playing since open beta so my characters have built up a bit; however, I'm not has bad as others that run 20-30 + characters for Dilithium farming :D

I like Doff missions. Many times it seems like after running around searching for the Doff missions I wanna do I need to wait around to them to complete before I can do more. That is when I switch to my other toon to do the same thing.

When both toons are fully loaded with Doff missions and I need to wait before doing more, then I "kill time" by playing Elite STFs or do dilithium grinding missions. :)
