Boff summonable questions

Hi gang, hope you're all well.

Why is it that my Boffs don't always use summonables (like, say, a Combat Horta or the Jackal Mastiff) when I equip it on them? This doesn't seem to be tied to any particular faction (in my experience), but certain characters of mine.

Is there anything I can do to 'force' (i.e. trigger) the summoning on my Boffs? I've tried using the item myself first (and waiting for the cooldown to pass, naturally) and then equipping on a Boff, but that hasn't worked.

    Boffs can only summon 1 combat pet at a time. I think its 5 minutes the cooldown. Once the combat pet is not fighting, it vanishes and it cant be summoned after 5 minutes. You can "reduce" that time, using 2 pets, and while one of em is in cooldown, the other one can be summoned sooner, but not until 3 minutes or something like that.

    In short, no you can't do anything about it. Boffs will use combat pets at inappropriate times out of combat (even if you have them set to Passive), or they won't use them when you think they should use them during combat, and there are no controls available to tell them to use devices, only their Boff powers.
