I would like to replace my engineering BO Lieutenant-Commander ability slot currently RS polarity 2 to EP shields 3 .I am a tactical captain so I can not teach this ability,How ever I understand that other players can if they are engineering and have learned this ability.I am NOT a social player I have NO IDEA how to even use chat, trade and definitely not this.

I have no in game friends or the knowledge of how to add friends or message them.So what do I do now?create another account on another computer and raise an engineering captain to the point were it can teach this ability and meat my self in game in order to teach it to myself?

Or you could just go into a social zone and post to chat what you're looking to do. Some kind soul might be willing to help. I know I would do it. :)

If it is trainable (I don't know off the top of my head), then establishing a second character, along with a second account to facilitate BOFF trades, is certainly one way to do it.

You don't even need to level up on the second account. Just use a second account as the trading facilitator, and trade between characters on your own account.

Otherwise, just advertise in chat. It is harder with Romulans due to the scarcity & pricing of SRO & Reman Infiltrators. KDF-side, people do pay me to train Sci skills like Grav Well 3, so there's that method of ensuring that your BOFF comes back to you. You may have to pay more on the Romulan side to make sure your SRO BOFFs don't "disappear" due to "disconnection" or whatever.

Though of course, this is what Fleets are for. The better Fleets, besides providing the Fleet Shipyard and Fleet Elite equipment, will also provide BO training and transfer services, and advice on setup, configurations, and battle tactics...

What will prevent the person receiving the BO from keeping him as i would be trading the Borg BO with is of some value.

No, he cannot. They have to be same faction as you.

There's really nothing at all to prevent them from keeping it. I suppose you could report them, but I don't know what would come of that. Basically, you've gotta trust the person you're trading the BO to for training.

The only "system" I know of in place for this sort of thing is the "honor system". As I said, you've basically gotta trust the other guy not to take your BO and run.

I wish they'd allow us to trade BOs between our alts on the same account. A sort of " Personnel Transfer" option if you will. But who knows if or when such a thing would be made possible.

Anyway... I'd be happy to train your BOs for you, though.

You do need to be careful as some Boffs can't be traded, you might find your Borg Boff is one of them.

@ catliketyping, a second account only works if your trading unpromoted Boffs, you would need to level the characters on your second account to at least lvl30 to be able to trade any ranked Boff.

This is a good thing about being in a fleet, people you can trust to train your BOFF.

What I'd like to see, is an account wide training "School" attached to say the Bank.

I understand why Cryptic (or PWE) doesn't want you to be able to transfer Commissioned BoFF's across toons ... after all, where is the profit in that?

But if you could place the BoFF in a "School" or "Academy" slot temporarily, that was account wide, you could then swap to a different toon, train them, then swap back ...

Of course, they could always remove the stupid "Captain Only" skills, and have BoFF's randomly come out with these abilities ... But then again, how would they then sell retraining tokens?
Oh, hoho hohhhhh, Oh,, hoho, hohhhhh
