New kits and modules: Total complete confusion. Help.

rustiswordzrustiswordz Member Posts: 824 Arc User
I'm trying to fill my new kits with modules.

Is there anywhere a complete list of all the various modules and kit types. because at the moment i'm scratching my head trying to find on the exchange the various modules.

Ive been using the module/functions of my old kits as keyword references into the exchange as a reference and nothing is coming up either under the kit tab or all tab.

I'm getting so frustrated I'm getting to the point of dumping the new kits and sticking with my old ones which are looking more and more nice with this convoluted mess that is the new kits.

Please help.

 :(

Well everything that used to exist, still exists... You can hit up the old kids, or the new kits on STOWIKI, and get an overview.

The only difference right now, is that the individual skills are as modules now, and that kits are set up "oddly".
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Just type Research or Medic for Science, Fabrication or Mechanic for Engineering, and Strategic or Assault for Tactical.

As I understand it, the exchange doesn't work for kit modules yet. Vaguely remember it on the patch notes as an issue.

Thus, the most reliable way to get them is either through a fleet, or to run missions that now drop them.

As to the missions, does anyone have a list of those that offer kit frames or modules?

Assimilation rewards a random, profession specific Kit Frame and Module of Mk XI, Very Rare quality.

It's the only mission that offers that high a reward. Badlands also offers Kit Module of Uncommon quality.

I'm not aware of any lists as yet, but the names of the modules are the same as the abilities on the old kits. For example, 'Quick Fix' ('all' tab) will bring up Quick Fix kit modules.

The modules are in there but the individual names and sub types all are listed 'oddly' for want of a better word.

Search under All for modules but do NOT search using any Rarity filter because that is broken in the All category.

The module system is too new for there to be any definitive list.

You can do a search for the word "module" with a Rank filter set to Rear Admiral Upper half in All to only get X and XI results.
Setting it to Vice Admiral will give you XII results from the new lockbox.
If you want to only show specific categories, something like "assault kit" is a viable search tearm, or "ambush mk xi" works too. Just substitute the power or category of your choice.

As far as I can tell there are NO XII versions for the standard/old powers that aren't bind on pickup because I haven't seen a single one on the exchange; I think the only way to get XII of the old powers is the fleet store or fleet kit trade-in.

Has there been any word on a EC module vendor?

I liked the idea of customizable kits but the roll out has really killed any enthusiasm I had for it, especially when I found that you basically need (at least) one color higher to match what you had before.

I found it interesting that the Fluidic Tactical kits have a different slot loadout than normal Tactical kits. With a Fluidic Tactical you can slot an operative kit +1, but with normal tactical kits you don't have enough strategic module slots to fit stealth module, battle strategies, and ambush at the same time. Keep this in mind if you have a tac captain - it might be worth it to pick one up.

One of the Devs mentioned that an EC vendor for Common modules was in the works.

I agree, some of the roll out is a killer. I've had kit module and frame drop once, maybe, during a mission. And even though you can get them from a Dilithium Vendor, they're quite expensive for Mk IX Rare quality items.

As drops, I seem to get a lot of kits and not many modules.

I've managed to get most of the modules I wanted by re-running Assimilation.
