Is New Romulus reputation bugged or am I doing something wrong?
I earn marks, I use them in the 'contribute' tasks, but my first set of tasks seem to have given me no actual reputation. I got the gear boxes, but my rep still shows 0.
Also, as a Romulan admiral who has been with D'Tan right from the beginning when we were both peasants.... why am I starting at zero here? It seems like New Romulus has the only empire based faction...
Are you doing the Hourly projects? After the first three in a day, they stop rewarding Rep Xp. However, word is that they are also bugged anyway, and don't award XP until you rank up (which is not how it was intended to work).
As for why you start from zero; Because it wouldn't be a grind if they did it for you.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.

Have you waited out the 20 hour/1 hour (depending on mission) cooldown and used the "Collect Reward" (I think that's what it says) button?
See, the retrofit made all reps work like the "new and experimental" (when added) Dyson Sphere rep: you put in your donations, and start the mission. That gives you a gear box immediately, then when the mission has run its course you click "Collect" to gain your rep experience and unlock that slot for another mission.
I figured it out... it doesn't give you rep until the refresh timer is up, then you have to claim it. Yet it gives you the gear up front...... strange system.
And it could still be a grind. It should just be slightly less for Romulans (start at 1 instead of 0, for example, still 4 more ranks to grind). And the other empires could (and should!) have their own faction to grind, same parameters.
Its kinda weird, but quick to get used to. It took me a little time to figure it out. Since I was used to getting the reward. And had to wait a day or whatever to accept the mission again.

We asked for that during LoR beta. Either start with a higher rep, or with a bunch of marks.
But Cryptic don't want anything between the grind and us. Canon, lore, logic, everything is meaningless when you have sliders to push.
But then we are lucky, after months of asking, they gave us rep sponsorship token.
Thats weird. I keep filling romulan rep projects without any problem. And my rep exp keeps growing. I am actually at T4 in my romulan toon. And going T5.
Generally I like the New Romulus tasks so far, particularly the radiation scans. Fun lil minigame.
Only two quibbles (like tribbles but with more Q?):
1) The combat based Red Alerts seem to assume endgame gear. Nasty.
2) The hand in based tasks, which actually take more effort (since you have to have to collect, then run to the appropriate scientist or bureaucrat) give less progression credit for missions than simply analysing something in the field (less than half the work for 2 to 4 times the results).

Strange game.
(Couldn't resist.)
