Any Undine rep cutscenes?

leviathan99#2867 leviathan99 Member Posts: 7,747 Arc User
Just curious. New Romulus and Dyson reps both had cutscenes every tier.

I can't find any with the Undine rep.

I liked missions or cutscenes (even small ones) associated with rep tiers because it added to the illusion of story progress.

Sadly, nope. I completed Tier 1 a couple of days ago and none showed up, so it looks like we're back to the simple "Just grind the Reputation" that Nukara and Omega was.

Then again, I doubt anyone's hit Tier 2 yet, so we don't know if they crammed any along the way. It'll be until sometime in May before someone shows us further.

This is not good. This was the only reason I did those Rep grinds. To see a story progression. Just like the Nukura tier. I only did up to Tier 2 for those bonus. Since it was easy to get that far. After that I just moved on. The story kept me going for the Romulan and Dyson ones. Other than some gear and stat bonus.

No story for the 8472/Undine Rep. I will pass it, since there is nothing there. Plus I saw most of the stat bonus and gear. There was nothing I really wanted anyway. Looks like I get to work on my Alts after I do the newest missions on my main. And allow him some rest.

Of course, we don't even know what's beyond Tier I. There might be something beyond that. Who knows?

Well way some people play on here. It won't take long to find out. If its worth something, then I will do it. Until then I won't. As I want to feel like I done something during that Rep grind. Other than get some items that I can get by without.

yeah. The Undine rep isn't bad.

    Best rep grind: Romulan.
    2nd best: Voth

    Worst Rep grind: Nukura.

The undine is 3rd best but that doesn't mean it is bad.
Should I start posting again after all this time?

Unfortunately it shows a serious and clear decline in overall quality. First there were FEs. Then it was a FE + non-interactive cutscenes. Now it's just a FE...

The FE is almost the only good thing of S9. Everything else is TRIBBLE lol. This season was the most lazy one til date.

I was just thinking of everything that was wrong season 9 and theres so much I didnt even think of the story cut scenes with the rep progression. Damn its one thing after another. I wouldn't be surprised at this point if I woke up to find they took every ship I had in the shipyard because New players don't have them. Really their thiefs in the night.

Personally I'm not bothered by the lack of rep cutscenes. I really resented that they put the Voth story behind a grind wall. I eventually just went to watch them on YouTube.

You shouldn't have to grind to earn story progression.

why would you expect to see cutscenes everytime the devs did a new rep?

i dont, and to be honest i would rather the devs spend their time getting the expansion out right with a full storyline then mess about with a rep cutscene.

I rather like that they didn't put any story in the new rep. It makes it awkward when I play on alts. Went through the story line and had been playing around in the Dyson sphere on my latest one. Finally hit T5 Rom rep and went to go discover a gateway that I'd already been through in Sphere of Influence. Felt weird, man.

Thank god. Rep cut-scenes are unfriendly to casual players and I hope the Romulan and Dyson ones get turned into story journal missions soon.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

FE's? You mean that bundle of five missions that were clearly rushed, used tons of silly rehashed animations in the cutscenes, poor, if any voice acting that literally used people pulled off the streets, nonsensical plots, and little to no continuity?

    Yeah I don't miss them. :D

The way it's rolling lately you might miss having FEs completely soon enough.
