They're also kinda dumb. Why can't the marks just be deposited directly into our assets list? What's the point of that extra step of having to open the box to get the marks?

Yeah I agree seeing they increased drops.

I guess the idea is to make you feel like you're getting something special, and it works with the extra toys you get in boxes now, they're fun to open in anticipation, but with marks you already know what you're getting, and the boxes are just an annoyance. Just stick them in inventory automatically already.

You answered the question with the first part of your post ... It makes the masses "feel special" to be receiving a present, because you all are special you know ...

Secondly, 5 minutes after Cryptic implemented an Automatic system for Marks, the Forums would be flooded with ... "Whhhaaaahh, I didn't get my X marks from Y mission .. .Whhhaaaahhhh ... ... Whhhaaahhhh."

You know it would happen, and although I tolerate stupidity very poorly in real life, I understand that companies must tailor things to be accessible and acceptable to the 'lowest common denominator" not the highest.

Ah That was the way it was before these dumb boxes. You had boxes for choice marks which was okay.

As a fleetmate said to me when I commented on those (insert expletive) boxes, "Welcome to Boxes Online"

Maybe it could be the first step in being able to donate marks to other players?

Because if they stacked, nobody would open them except on mark bonus weekends. ;)

Or maybe the new system is an attempt at stopping AFK'ers as they are limited by both having to select the reward box and having to open them in order to prevent running out of inventory space.

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles

Well that's a very round about way of working at that problem. What mark boxes might do, that's by design, is give cryptic a little more flexibility in handing out reputation payouts. Notice how we're getting an automatic daily bonus for completing different types of misssions? Before cryptic may have only been able to stack on daily missions for the same effect (see. the Ground Battlezone) which can be a pain in the TRIBBLE (see. the Ground Battlezone.)

Now we're seeing the same sort of thing but it just happens, which I do like even it means clearing my inventory just a little more frequently for completing the more mundane tasks.

That would be a poor way of going after AFK'ers. Doing the undine battlzone space between getting drops and boxes for 10 marks at a time. Then dying and having long list of drops sitting in front of the respawn button can be annoying. It's kind of hard recycling stuff while fighting lol.

I can understand giving the daily bonus ones in boxes as they are new and people may think they didn't get them but the rest is idiotic. Even more so when they have added them to ones we always just get added to to the count like the Voth ground zone, Rommy patrol missions etc.

Boxed marks are GOOD! With missions that gave unboxed marks, you would be penalized for running them now, losing a third of your pay. With boxed marks, you don't lose your pay no matter when you run the mission unless you open the box early.

    Wut?
As soon as you have a box the amount in it does not change.

I believe its only the first step.
Second step: You'll have to buy keys to open the boxes in c.-store.

I think they cannot stack because they may contain different amounts of marks, and the game cannot handle stacking different items.

The real question is -why do we have them at all for boxes that contain only one type of mark?

I doubt they will be affected by the bonus marks event when given now. If that is what you are getting at. Even if they were it is not worth keeping them as they don't stack.

I agree that they should put it back the way it was and have boxes for choice marks only. Having 10 boxes of undine marks which have 10 marks each is stupid and haven't tried voth battlezone yet since new season would hate it there also.

honestly they should be account bound not charecter bound just like they did with lobi ..understand everyone afraid of those who will try to take advantage of a situation but marks , lobi , energy credits etc.. should be account bound its not like we r selling them on exchange all we would like to do is have our very own toons pull there reasorses together so certain toons can get certain things all these things can be placed in account shared bank
