Undine Lockbox Rep Buffs, don't Buff Undine Rep?

Last night I opened a few Undine Lockboxes and, among other odds'n'ends, I got a handful of Reputation Mark Bonus Pool buff devices (both the 100 and 500 variety). However, in the item description they each say they only buff the old Rep Marks (Omega, Romulan, Nukara, Dyson).

Is this just an omission error in the item description?

Please tell me the new Undine Rep wasn't shunned by a new Undine Lockbox prize!

    Ok, one of my characters had a pre-existing Rep Buff already in effect, and it gave me bonus Undine Marks, so the "problem" appears to just be missing text in the description.
