No Exploration Season 10?

Hey,

Is this true? So, Cryptic released a broken battlezone, nerfed everyone restricting what people put they spent there time on, nerfed the borg set, and will continue to nerf till Season 10.

Then I read this.

Season 10
Exploration revamp [35]

Removing Exploration system altogether (i.e., the auto-generated missions in star clusters) is being considered as of early 2014. Star cluster Duty Officer assignments would be moved elsewhere. [3]
Original plans were dependent on changes being introduced with the Fleet Advancement system and Fleet ownership of Starbases [29]
Including distribution of anomalies in various star clusters [41]
More about specific species and less about randomness, like with the Deferi [42]
New exploration-related minigame [42]

Found this on http://sto.gamepedia.com/Upcoming_content#Season_10_.282015.29

Seriously???

Meh, I don't care. I got sick of the Exploration clusters after I had to level the original diplomacy system there. I'm sick of Borg with 3rd dynasties, sick of never finding survivors on outposts, sick of running around and scanning five random objects when one is somewhere in a hill, sick of having my crew fall through holes in the ground. Just sick.

That's only because of Cryptic for five or six seasons have not revamped it, although people been suggesting ways to revamp it for the longest.

I think exploration should be a integral part of the game. I got tired of the same things you got tired of and have been waiting Cryptic to revamp the system.

Gamepedia is not an official source of information. Until the Dev Blogs are posted reguarding Season 10, anything on that site can be considered "Speculation".

    Ow, that STOwiki page.

Believe me, you dont want to believe anything written there. That page is almost the same as it was in 2012, and is the biggest source of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM this game currently has.

If we could actually vote for what is on the wiki, I would vote that page to be completely deleted.

Whatever sources are there, nothing said by any dev is official until the moment they publish a dev blog. If Taco would now go on the forums and say that he is revamping 39-Sierra to be even more epic than ESD and will release it next July, this is not true until he has written a dev blog or until we can see the updated station on Tribble. And even if it is on Tribble, it is not neccesarily official.

This is probably the one site on the sto wiki that needs a lot of [Citation Needed].

If you actually have a source, you can probably link to it. A Dev Blog, a dev post, a podcast with the devs (ideally a transcript of that podcast).

Being considered is not always set in stone.

TBH those missions are badly in need of a revamp. There are like 6 total missions (interior space station rat maze with hidden clickys, interior rat maze with enemy, planet with hidden clickys, planet with combat, defend the space station, patrol space) with a slight randomization of the text, enemy type, and wallpaper.

It sounds like a re-work from the ground up, and that sounds good to me. IMHO these missions, above all others, should be like 10% combat tops, with more "observing" of pre-warp cultures, assistance of minor species (non military), checking out ancient ruins, space anomalies, whatever.

As it stands, these missions are repetitive and unrewarding fluff that most people probably do a couple of times as a new player and probably never/rarely return. A revamp to make it worth doing would be welcome.

I cant believe actuall nowadays people do exploration missions. They are stupid, broken and not worthy.

I remember back in the days, when i did exploration missions, 80% of the times i ended in a ground mission all the time, with the same map 80% of the times, and with my boffs stucked everywhere 99% of the times. If that is the way exploration maps are going to be, lol, nah, bye exploration missions.

But i just stoped doing em because of my boffs getting stucked everytime in every map. I just got enough of it.

Your info is linking back to a comment Dan Stahl said in october 2012. You know how many ideas have changes since 2012?

    STOWiki != Fact
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.
