Good job on the new skin and face textures, they look great! I was worried after the last time Cryptic tried to mess with textures, but this seems to be spot on for my taste. :) Good job!

Are we are playing the same game?

All my female characters and boffs now have tiny puckered lips and half of the faces and textures look downright horrid, like badly painted barbie doll.

Female characters faces have changed season 8.5 and 9 patch. Forehead growth (hairline higher with ponytail), forced smile, doll face and other small changes =/. Default character faces haven't changed much or so my friends report.

At season 8.5 patch they also changed some sliders cause my "asian" characters developed "boxer nose" or nose has dropped lower. Didn't report it, cause though someone else had report it.
Anyway i am quite mad now cause i spend hours in tailor trying to perfect my characters appearance and outfits.

Maybe Cryptic wants to get rid of veteran players? ;P

My Rommie come out looking like Pinocchio. I imagine that I can fix that, though.

While the face textures are ok, I am not at all a fan of the new female body textures.

They look like bony undernourished catwalk models now, you can even make out individual ribs in the right lighting conditions!
The old body normal maps were much better, and had very fine muscle tone, which the new ones do not.

i'd say the only face that truly feels it has a forced smile sometimes is humanoid 3, and maaaybe humanoid 5 depending on how the face is structured.

humanoid 1, 2 and 4 don't have that ever, you could... stick with the old faces you know.

My main character was created at launch day and i have only changed hairstyle and outfit. It has been same looking face for years. Besides i "hate" default faces. Those you can see all the time at the around the universe. That's why i spend lot of time at tailor to make a unique character. ;)

And why waste such opportunity to just use default face, cause STO character customization is among the best. :)

btw, i found something interesting about the "perma-smile" humanoid 3 face has, it only shows up, if you put lip fullness above 1.5 bars, and only becomes truly obvious after 2-2.5 bars, maybe the smile was unintended, so i guess for the time being, those that wish to make use of humanoid 3 face will have to tone down on the lip fullness.
