All public PvP queues are now All vs. All, allowing mixed factions of players on each team.
Hands down the very worst aspect of Season 9.
Whats even the point now of factional balance if its all going to be a random nonsensicle mishmash?
Whatever happened to escalating the war, and expanding PvP into a territory control metagame?
I wan't to FIGHT and destroy feds, Not be buddies with them.
Huge let down Cryptic.

Why are you not rejoicing?
Get together a group and RP all you want. Please don't bother everyone else who need a viable game.
Its possible that they did that to try and encourage people to do it more, as having to wait for queues can be a bit of a drag. I know from experience. Waiting to do the 20 man FA with the Salt Vampires is mind numbing, not to mention wanting to try The Big Dig every once in a while.
Open the queues on both sides to both sides could mean the queues fill up faster.

This is actually a HUGE improvement for the more casual KDF pvp players - no-one likes to wait 10-20 min(or an HOUR!!!) for a FvK match to pop - when 3 or 4 FvF matches pop in the same time.
And really - since the Romulans - it's really RvR a lot of the time:eek:
...ahem, hardly a bad change in the least. I've fallen asleep waiting for a KvF queue to pop.
Whats next, all the ships become cross-faction?
I may actually do it a bit more often now.

Bye bye STO.

Why is that a bad thing? The entire concept of 'faction' is an artificial construct that exists for little more than a reason for players to be jerks to one another. Fed, Klingon, Romulan, we're all ultimately humans sitting at a keyboard going through way too much Mountain Dew, so who gives a damn?

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
(Does this mean you will stop posting on the forum? hope so:P )

I would actually quite like to see this added along side the ques.
Although actually, isn't that kinda what kar'rat (or however it's spelled) is?

Nuff Said.
Personally I will not directly assist any Federation ships that end up on my team, and should my sensors be scrambled I will fire on any starship bearing Federation markings, friend or foe.
Love this video..:P
We need more in-universe open-combat maps, like Ker'rat (but without the oddball farmer-vs-raider mechanics). Then we can have glorious battles, vanquish the enemy, claim territory for our empire(s), etc., and hopefully get on the path to 3-way PVP.
FvK is not a failure, just back in those days, we do not have starbase fleet yet, most of the feds are dilithium farmers and they hate kdf raiding, and kdf does not have strong population.
Now that we have starbase fleet, yes, it is possible to build territory battle without the need to have pvp queue.
That's what the players wanted! Next season cross-faction ships and additionally Borg lockboxes.
Instead of players wanting Cryptic to make the best STO MMO game with original content that is Star Trek. Now it's Space Trek Online.
I thought lockbox ships other then the mirror universe was a very bad idea.
I like this storyline, and this is where some KDF player tells me it's because I'm a feddie and scared. No I'm just a player who loves a good story

As of cross faction ship, lockbox. Enough said.
But it could be worse. If you listen to player, you would have fed scimitar "because it's so much better than a gal x!" and Romulan in fed uniform (probably because they want to play fed, but with the Rom traits/ships).
As for the topic itself, people asked for faster pvp queue. You have it. And the peace is coming soon. I expect VERY soon, with the fight against Undines (the reason of the war), having a neutral side (Romulan), and the name of S9 : a new accord, like the Khitomer accord.
Better get used to it.
If thus leads to quicker queues, I'm happy
My PvE/PvP hybrid skill tree
What's going on with the Romulans is a complete cluster f_k, whoever heard of alliances that have your own people shooting at each other, whoever thought that up really needs to stay away from the paint fumes, they should have kept the Romulans neutral with the ability to pick and choose missions from either side but considering how completely generic most of it is, why they went with the alliance thing at all, is completely lost on me.
I think free for all PVP zones would be preferable to queues since the queue system is so borked, but it's just an opinion.
Then might I suggest private matches with friends and fleeties?
Because, in public queues, this is called "being a dickhead". Many of us who play in PuGs exclusively enjoy the unpredictability and randomness, thus have a high tolerance for BS. But knuckleheads being poor sports, or TRIBBLE the pooch because of fanboi temper tantrums, is something that IS frowned upon by those trying to have fun.
