Sphere of Influence - swarmers shooting through everything

In the place where Captain Shon and Maiek are being held, the swarmers can shoot through anything. I was trying to hide behind the pillars and they shot right through the massive pillar. Either it should destroy the pillar AND hit me or it should simply hit the pillar without going through. But at the moment, it's going through the pillar without destroying it.
