Still do Foundry Missions?

gamerwookiegamerwookie Member Posts: 0 Arc User
Ever since the Voth Battlezone, Dilithium has been easy to get and farm. But before that, the best way to get it was through foundry missions.
My question is, does anybody still do foundry missions?

Also, are there any that you guys would suggest? Favorites?

a simple way to start is to do the spotlights.

I used to do them some as I got caught up with my Captains I usually play with. However lately I don't have time to do them. Since either I'm doing the Reps, or getting dil for the dil store. So that takes up most of my time.

For which ones to do? I would do like the other suggested. Hit the spotlight ones. Those is the ones I did when I was doing them. And they are on the list for the best rewards.

I know that, I've played through most of the spotlight missions and a lot of standard Foundry missions.

Some personal favorites include One Too Many (spotlight mission), anything by Captain_Revo, and the Star Trek Allegience missions by chicochavez.

    I stopped long ago.

Mainly because people stopped playing my mission when they started doing the STOked reviews and then later the Spotlighted missions.

I decided that if the only way to get people to play your mission is to suck up to a podcast or Cryptic themselves, the whole concept wasn't worth it.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Way back before the Battlezone, I would actually search for new foundry missions to play. Some had some interesting stories that people would put up.
I stopped though. Mainly because I was just tired of playing foundry missions. Might do it again someday.

I review them in a thread and play them for fun, and I've got two projects open at the moment.

I still run a nice little mission called "repair utopia planatia". Nice and straightforward, about 20mins gametime for 2.4k dilithium when I ran it the other day.
Used to run lootomatic til the nerf now I just run one map per day if I can be assed and I'm just short of whatever ec I'm after.

I was the same way with One Too Many. It was short and pretty humorous.

I suggest playing the missions not yet giving rewards. Many authors have wonderful missions but cannot even get the feedback spotlights due.

I like to play the odd foundry mission now and then but I find the biggest problem is the shambles of the list the missions are on, there is no sense of order in the list and no way to mark the missions you have played.
I would like to see missions that are all parts of a whole story ie part 1 part 2 ect placed together in a sub menu so you get just the one title and when you select that it brings up a list of the parts.
also highlight unplayed missions so you don't end up replaying missions by accident and also a way to see the marks you gave missions played so you can see if you want to replay a mission you enjoyed.
better search options would also be good so you could sort by author and mission type like ground or space only or mixed and story or shootemup.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    These are great ideas.

We have been asking for a 'search' interface just to find missions (as only 50 out of THOUSANDS that are available are ever shown) for some time now. http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=943411

The ability to organize multi-part missions has also been asked for (and is actually live right now ...in Neverwinter). But I really like the ideas to highlight missions played/not played and the Dilithum that was awarded when last played.

Better access and more search options would really breathe life back into the Foundry - good for players and good for Cryptic (it is a HUGE source of free content for Cryptic to use). :)
