I don't know if anybody has noticed this, but if you have a plasma weapon that has an "ammunition" level, like the Piercing Beam Rifle or Repeater Pistol, and run out of that energy, if you use any remodulation device (frequency, fractal, presequenced remodulators, etc.), there's a chance that plasma would instantly refill.
Think of it as a "tactical reload".
Honestly, if their where a bug to give u a repeatable 100 zen for clicking a pot, you wouldn't use it 100x ?QUOTE]
Honestly, no I wouldn't. Because that's how the devs make their salary (either through donations for the zen or subscribers who get the monthly stipend) so they can continue working on this game. It's how the servers stay operational so we are able to play this game.
So how about this; if a dev reads this thread and decides that it's a big enough exploit to patch it (which only really affects two weapons out of the game anyway), then so be it. I won't shed a tear over it being fixed.
If a dev doesn't consider it a problem or says that it's a feature of said weapons, then hey, a more people know about it.
In case u forgot, its also our mandate and civic duty to find these "holes" in the programming :P

This game is filled with little things like this.
Just like getting several suits together, and switching between them to summon troops, and marching thru the level with your own personal army.
I wouldn't. Because such an exploit would be discovered sooner or later, and since it would be easy to track, I would get banned right away.
I always report major exploits, because they break the game as soon as enough people know about it. And a broken game is no fun. Minor exploits, I may or not report it, depending on my time and will. Also, if the exploit help the players to balance something unbalanced, then I won't tell. Until the balance is done, obviously.
For example, this is a minor exploit IMO, and help to balance otherwise unbalanced weapons (they are usually bad weapon when reaching endgame, useless against borgs, and pretty much useless against everything else). Also, using a 2s remodulator to reload your weapon is not what I call effective Now, using the integrated remodulator from the OMEGA armor is another thing, but then, it's just a chance to proc, so it's not a big deal.
its not like cryptic is big on fixing things... so i doubt it, lol, also people actually use that gun?
Rule #1: If it benefits the players in unintentional ways, it has to go ASAP.
Trust me... I am an internet meme... Ok well I am not an internet meme, but I've been here for 4 years...
For example: When SFA was released, we were able to leave the compound and walk on the water and the buildings... Got fixed in the first pacth less than a day later.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

there were(and pretty obviously still are considering) plenty of bugs that benefited players far more and cryptic still took forever to fix them, if anything, cryptic only fixes bugs when they become widely abused on a huge scale.
pretty sure i saw folks in the PvP forums complaining about the usage of console duplicates to refresh the cooldown of console abilities for instance.

publicly stating an exploit and it looks like you were gloating about as well, when your account is looked at by PWE for misuse of the ToS, can i haz your stuff?
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Aaaaaannnnddd... Now it gets removed in the next patch.
Nice job.
Dang and dang again.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Is it a glitch? I was under the impression it was intentional.
If it's a glitch then it should be fixed.
You guys are forgetting the part where I basically said that I didn't know it was a glitch. Now for the one or two of you that use these weapons whose game I ruined, I'm sorry. But if a dev comes on here and considers it too much of a problem to be fixed, then guess what; it needs to be fixed.
And for the record, I don't use this "exploit" on purpose. Nor do I use it extensively. I Just noticed it during STFs when I needed to remodulate my weapon anyway. I would rather have my weapon ready instead of inactive during a remod.

you should of quit while you were ahead. now you admit you use it.. it would of been best to send out a support ticket on the issue and let them figure it themselves then make it so public, confirmed it worked and how you got the exploit to work, they can then replicate it themselves from what you wrote on the support ticket and dertermine if it should be fixed. but putting it up here means others will follow this exploit that you put out which unintentional or not is a form of cheating the game server.
i think its time to shave this wookie.

I thought it was a week? And really... players got nothing out of that but amusement.... and bugs.... horrible bugs.... certain places would trap your character and make it so you had to relog to escape.

I think my original post already confirmed it's happened to me a few times (unintentionally, might I reiterate).
I didn't write a support ticket, yet, because A: I'm hoping a dev would see this and comment or acknowledge it and B: I usually save support tickets for bugs that make it hard or impossible to play the game (like constantly getting stuck in terrain). So, next time I log on, I'll write a ticket.

lol... ^^^^ this is exactly why this game continues to deteriorate.. the fan boys keep making excuses and telling the devs its ok to not do their jobs right lol..
you have to think of this game, and its developers like a business.. you cant keep thinking of them like a charity.. the developers get paid for doing a "good" job.. which means, if they have a ship, and its bug free, and it does everything its gonna say it will correctly, then they are rewarded by having a large sale of them... however, on the inverse.. if they mess up, and don't check the code, or properly test it before they rush it to the servers to break everything, and a bug is found like said zen example.. than that is their fault, and if they lose some money on it, it is the only way they will learn from it..
I am someone who wont give you TRIBBLE for bringing a potential bug to the table.. however, I will nto sit by and listen to someone preach about the poor devs, and its our duty to support them, and help them..
no.. no its not.. we pay for a service.. If that service is not rendered the way it is supposed to be, its not our job to fix it.. this is a perfect example of why cryptic needs to enlarge their team (and im not talking 1 or 2 people like they are doing.. quadruple the team, act like a big boy gaming company, and properly create content.. **this means hiring competent coding developers, spending more than five minutes talking about how and what something should do, and how it will effect the rest of the game (rep traits are a good example), then, once the developer codes it out and its ready, your "internal" testing puts it through the paces (like every other game on the market) and squashes 90% of the bugs before it even gets to the servers..
wouldn't it be nice to have a release that didn't come with a flogging of server disconnects, stability issues, and broken content..
I suspect a glitch, I use these weapons alot on Defera (they make great OMEGA substitutes) and have never noticed this before, then again I have never been looking, i just use the primary till the secondary recharges,
Jorhana Kreig: KDF, Tal'is: Romulan Fed, Shona'a: Romulan KDF, Johan Paul Kreig: Fed
completely unrelated... why is a wookie playing star trek anyways?
jk.
it doesn't credit you when you say you did it (unintentionally) and then flame others that might do the same... either you are also violating the terms of service or nobody.. you cant chose just because you did it its okay and others that do it , then its not.. that's bigot. because they could also say they use it unintentionally....

No, just certain weapons have an ammo mechanic.
Is that supposed to be sarcasm?
In case you forgot, using exploits is against Terms of Conditions.

The flamethrower uses ammo.

Its only an exploit if you know its not working as intended. If you dont know how do you know its an exploit

And while we're at it, if you're going to get mad at someone for openly talking about exploits, why don't you get mad at these guys as well;
