A long time ago I had got my engineer to Vice admiral, I had boutght my first retrofit ship and wanted to try out things. Well I had wandered into the warzone and found myself dying in seconds. Since then I have never touched PVP ever again.
So looking back, I want to learn a few things- like what do I need to do in PVP. What does a engineer bring to the table and how to actually fight and win against KDF cloakers whith builds that practically one shot.
Also a Question of what do feds bring to the table in PVP I know the KDF has cloaking and Flanking as their advantages, but what do feds have as theirs?
Yeah it is n00b questions time, but I want to try to discet my bad experience and come out a bit more knowelegable rather than:
PvP boot camp is an excellent player run platform to learn the in's & outs of PvP in lessons taught by Vets in a TeamSpeak ingame play format that has both novice and more experienced classes.
Its been around a.while now.
1.) Spend some time coming to understand the synergy between your ship selection + build + doffs. Getting the right mix is important.
2.) Cycle your abilities even when you are not in combat. I use keybinds and I cycle them constantly. If you would like to know how to setup binds check out the Boot Camp Companion Guides.
3.) Always run a high defense power setting + Shield Frequency Modulation cruiser command when you are not in combat. Once you engage switch out into high offensive power settings + Weapon System Efficiency.
4.) Keep 1x or 2x "Safety" abilities readily at hand as a last minute stop-gap if you have crucial abilities on CD. Examples RSP, EptE, etc.
5.) Think about anti-cloak technologies that you can employ e.g. Mines, EWP, TB.
6.) Pay attention to and familiarise yourself with the sound of an Alpha. You will hear them coming I promise you.
