Bridge Packs ?

grazyc2#7847 grazyc2 Member Posts: 1,988 Arc User
Except for the complete bridge packs and that's not much I can tell ya.

1. Enterprise Bridge set
2. Belfast Bridge set

I believe those are the only two complete with there own interior, rest of the packs are just bridges, even not to start over romulan and klingon.
Even the origin bridge isn't complete... outside the tutorial that is....

Well what I would like to know when is Cryptic gonna work on this very old promise they did ?
If you are an old player and watched Stoked with Jeremy and Chris you probably know what I mean ...

Will the Devs ever come to honor their promise ?

Any promise made more then 1 year ago should be considered null and void. The game has changed too much, especially since FTP, for any older promises to have any real bearing on where the game is today or where it is going.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Wish they made new bridges for the lockbox ships
Should I start posting again after all this time?

    Sadly you're probably right.

Taco has been pretty forthright about the time invested versus the useage of more than just bridge packs.

I will admit though to being a little sad about that.

A more distinctive interior to my ships would be something I'd happily pay for.

Don't own the TOS pack, but I did get the DS9 one.

And I really love the Belfast interior.

However, I do vaguely remember Taco speaking of a somewhat more generic solution.

Consider, Fed side, the current interior (sans bridge) to be a cruiser interior.

Then build a generic science ship one and a generic escort one.

It wouldn't be absolutely ideal but it would be better than what we have currently, where its entirely possible on my way to the TARDIS-like engine room to meet more crew than are actually stationed on my tiny escort.

This is the last post I can find from Taco about new interiors: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=15225871&postcount=10

Yeah, I remember that one, but i just have this vague sense that he suggested the generic idea as something that might be posible.

Not on the schedule, but feasible.

I love the Belfast interior, I think I visit there least once a day if I'm online on the holodeck.
So if they do an generic escort model that should be the one, Origin Bridge should be the one for cruisers then and the Voyager bridge should be the one for the Science class...

what about the Defiant? I toured a bridge recently that was introduced to me as a Defiant Bridge, it had 2 deck levels that were unique, although I am not familiar with the Belfast, so...

Oh how I love being misquoted. . .

    - FULL Ship interiors cost a LOT of time/manpower/money to develop.
    - There is, as players repeat constantly, nothing to do there, so players don't USE their interiors.
    - There used to be more to DO in your interior, but people complained about having to run all over their ship, so all of that was consolidated to your bridge.
    - There is no good reason to throw money at making these huge interiors with nothing to do in them, when players are going to run around them once, and then ignore them for the rest of time.
    - Currently we've been focused more on story content, which I believe is what more players are into atm.

In other words, we won't be developing new FULL interiors without some kind of major rework to the whole system, new content surrounding them, or other major improvement to them.

Note that bridges are NOT Full interiors, and we will continue making them, I'm sure.

That doesn't mean that someday we won't shift focus away from story content, back to interiors, develop fun stuff to do there, and/or put in something like the above exploration system. It's just not going to happen right now. We have other priorities at the moment.

Yeah I know this post, fact is that he is speaking the truth, How unfortunate this is then, but the could upgrade the finished ones so there is something to do, Because we do at least once a weak a fleet meeting onboard only trouble is it's Always the Belfast or the Enterprise one. so people that says there is nothing to do, I disagree with because you can make something to do out there if you want it bad enough...

Hope you guys enjoyed the tour, and yes there is a defiant bridge pack also but that is only the bridge, it's not like the belfast.

Also I placed brandon his words here in the tread, and I have to add if they keep up doing small grind content they never gonna be done and then indeed there will never be an upgrade to the interiors, so my hope is on season 9 and 9.5 where they gonna introduce so much stuff we need about 6 months to bite true...

Since they usually have to create a huge map for a new featured episode why not a mission inside a Galaxy class starship for example? They could use the map for the mission and later sell it as new Galaxy class interior pack via C-store. I'm pretty sure it would sell very well.

    Actually not a bad idea.

How about a couple of new maps, one on either the KDF or Starfleets flagships.

PvP, one team is invading the other must repel them.

And then, as you say, sell the map packs as interiors.

I'm sure someone in Cryptic mentioned an Intrepid / Voyager bridge / interior pack, however for a featured episode or to buy I can't remember.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.
