You wouldn't have to call it that, of course, but I think that a short weekend with a lighthearted mission where your character plays a 21st-century actor who gets swept up in an intergalactic adventure would be a LOT of fun.
You could have an Omega 13 (like a Tipler Cylinder, but with a much longer cooldown because it'd be free), and a Grabthar's Hammer, and an official Mak'tar head costume option as limited-time rewards...
It'd be a whooooooooooole lot of fun. And you could shout "By Grabthar's Hammer...By the Suns of Warvan...YOU SHALL BE AVENGED!!!!!", and maybe even have that line in a VO cutscene!
And I could have a red shirt crewman with no last name that you know is going to bite the dust or serve as cannon fodder. :P As much as I loved the movie, I'm not really sure if it could or how Cryptic could justify the development cost. They're too swamped to fix the bugs in the game as it is.

Maybe release it as part of a season, or for a special anniversary event?
If I were a 21st century actor and I got swept up in a Star Trek future I'd probably head straight to the holo suite and not leave until it was time to go.

Disney would have fits if the event was like what you described.
Well, it was an idea.
The whole point would be to have some Galaxy Quest-themed fun, and then get an official Beryllium Sphere trophy, or a Grabthar's Hammer ground weapon, or an Omega 13.

C'mon, devs, what do you say? Please?
One of my favourite movies.
I doubt they'd be able to get the rights, but it would be every kind of awesome if they could.
The obvious problem is that CBS (and by extension Cryptic) doesn't have rights to Galaxy Quest. Might as well try to do a Redshirts weekend, because Scalzi'd probably let them have rights for a lot less. (Mission objective: Try not to die!)
(Fun fact:There were a couple of short stories about the Trek actors and characters swapping places in the New Voyages anthologies in the late 70s/early 80s.)

I actually know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who works for John Scalzi's editor. I also comment on Scalzi's blog sometimes. He finds me mildly amusing.
Knowing Scalzi, he'd probably let Cryptic have the rights, at least temporarily, for maybe 50 grand, if that much.
He's got a bunch of books coming out soon, so he's not really financially strapped for cash. And even if he WERE strapped for cash, he's best buddies with Brandon Sanderson, who has like 5 Hugos and is stupidly popular for his awesomeness.
Alan Rickman is a really cool dude, and a great actor.
He was a fantastic Snape, though I preferred him in "Sense & Sensibility", as the older but honorable suitor whose name I can never remember.
Christopher Brandon.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Just throwing ideas out to justify it...
Point, that.

Just a fun little event.
That's the reason this will never happen.

Give them a couple of hard-and-fast rules, and outside that tell them to make it "really serious." Rest assured, you'll end up with comedy.

Alan Rickman
Actually your wrong, you'll just have to grind it 143 times.
I thought WoW's forums had angry elitist snobs, but I never could have imagined the level STO forums has.
And you get a brownie point for not knowing him as Snape.
I met him once at a train station. He was surprisingly charming, friendly and approachable.

Boom. Thanks!
