Please stop making Lunge more powerful after each new release.
It is already one-shotting people outside of crouch, with melee doffs.
The following Season updates keep buffing it more and more:
- 80% shield bypass for all melee
- unclear patch note from previous season saying melee is more effective against crouched opponents, on top of the already-in-place 100% extra damage
- Season 9: reputation passive adding 10% to melee damage, previously non-existant
- Season 9: new Undine rep armor adds 30% to melee damage
- ... there's probably more but these are what I recall atm.
With Season 9, Lunge is getting roughly 40% base damage bonus? If that's correct, then something needs to be done.
Unless the devs DO want Lunge to one-shot people no matter their defenses. (Maybe except some Scis.)
Which I seriously hope not.
It's kinda like how Vaper builds in space are getting better in Season 9. WAI?
Initial tests with fleet kits and comparison between Holodeck and Tribble, all melee increasing damage traits, Omega rep ground passives, and superbuffing active:
Lunge IV non-crit damage as reported in the tooltip:
Holodeck: 1050 damage
Tribble: 1180 Damage
This is before enemy resistance and debuffs.
Playing with the reported Tribble number a bit, we have:
Not enough for a one-hit, but then we have Fire On My Mark which will decrease that armor resistance factor and possibly allow for a 500~600 hit which can one-hit most player targets.
I'm not exactly sure how Dodge factors into this.
Also, the damage variation in Lunge seems a little too wide. I've seen a superbuffed Lunge barely deal damage to a standing target sometimes.
