Seriously, I find myself logging in less and less.

My friends list sees fewer people logging in on a given day.

PvP queues are dead most of the day.

PvE queues.... wait since when do I PvE anymore.

Battlezone is wearing thin.

Every toon repped and geared how I want them.

Both fed and kdf starbases completely done

Cant believe im gonna say this but... can we has another fleet holding or something?

I have literally no incentive to play anymore, and with PvP being so broken and slow not even that is holding my attention.

If you have no incentive to play then don't play. Forcing yourself to play a game you are bored with will just push you past bored to hate - and there are already too many haters on the forum who went to far.

Go and play something else for a few months. That is what I do all the time. No game is going to keep all of your attention all the time. Someone else posted that playing the same game for 2 hours a day is like only watching the same TV show every single day. No matter how much you like it eventually you will burn out.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I'm seeing two fleets I'm in small and large going stand still and the same thing is happening to my friends list. I just keep up to date in the forums. As for waiting for new content, I tested it on Tribble. No challenge either.

So, I am back to my 3d modelling. Maybe I'll be learning some game enginer toolkit. http://msviviane.deviantart.com/

It's true. I burned out around thanksgiving time last year. So I dusted off my console, and played Batman Arkham City. Then GTA 5. Then tried SWTOR.

I checked the forum weekly to see if any in game events. But found myself unable to log in and play. I just felt that much apathy towards this game.
I just play the game at a slower pace now, and try not to farm and grind. I think that was the most mind numbing part. My top character is accolade hunting. I have one alt who does foundry. I started a new character in each faction. I only plan to casually play the storyline missions with them.
Taking a break, and evaluating what was fun, and what was killing your interest may help.

I burned myself out a long time ago - now I just doff a bit here and a bit there. My fleet is mostly left, my friends list is "offline" most of the time. But that is the nature of MMO's - you just can't keep up with the content demand to keep players playing for 1000's and 1000's of hours without burnout. Do what Cosmic suggests - do something else for awhile.

Play something else, no one at Cryptic is going to get upset if you play other games, even the devs play other games.

Actually I only play STO and Second Life. A lot less STO now.

I will probably play Eve Online, Space Engineer, or Kerbal at one point.

Am gonna play ESO but I am waiting out this massive subscription fiasco they are currently going through.

I prefer playing sub games with game time cards and they havent hit my area anyway >=/

For all the good of that game, they really botched the revenue stream side of the launch.

You have to have 90 dollars up front to play right now (despite the 30 day free time included with the box)

75 for the box, 15 for the next months sub paid in advance.

One of the fastest growing games on Steam right now : "Goat Simulator" on Steam

No joke - there were like 10k players on this weekend - seriously this is NOT a late April fools joke!(although technically the full version was released April 1st - the beta has been around awhile)

    Some info on the game:

    $9.99 US

    About the Game

Goat Simulator is the latest in goat simulation technology, bringing next-gen goat simulation to YOU. You no longer have to fantasize about being a goat, your dreams have finally come true! WASD to write history.

Gameplay-wise, Goat Simulator is all about causing as much destruction as you possibly can as a goat. It has been compared to an old-school skating game, except instead of being a skater, you're a goat, and instead of doing tricks, you wreck stuff. Destroy things with style, such as doing a backflip while headbutting a bucket through a window, and you'll earn even more points!

Or you could just give Steam Workshop a spin and create your own goats, levels, missions, and more! When it comes to goats, not even the sky is the limit, as you can probably just bug through it and crash the game.

Disclaimer: Goat Simulator is a completely stupid game and, to be honest, you should probably spend your money on something else, such as a hula hoop, a pile of bricks, or maybe pool your money together with your friends and buy a real goat.

    Key Features

    You can be a goat

Get points for wrecking stuff - brag to your friends that you're the alpha goat

Steam Workshop support - make your own goats, levels, missions, game modes, and more!

MILLIONS OF BUGS! We're only eliminating the crash-bugs, everything else is hilarious and we're keeping it
(this line in the game info section was clearly ripped off from Cryptic - the devs at Cryptic should sue!!)

In-game physics that spazz out all the time

Seriously look at that goat's neck

    You can be a goat

Y'know, I should try out that Goat Simulator...

/Looks at 15 other games bought on Steam, haven't been touched

    ...soon.

Either way, yeah, don't worry about being bored. Season 9 drops soon, so take a break and wait. I've just been running a few things so I can get ready for it, then wait for XP Week following Junior Officer Appreciation Week so I can catch up my Gorn to level 50.

So? Do they go to other movies even though they grew up on Star Trek? Do they watch other TV shows even though they grew up on Star Trek? Do they read other books and magazines even though they grew up on Star Trek?

If the answer is yes then there is nothing wrong with playing other games even though they grew up on Star Trek. :)

Personally, I've been getting devoured by Age of Wonders 3. The previous games have consumed an unholy amount of my time and the new one looks to be conforming to that trend..

I definitely understand the sentiment though. The whole Undine Lockbox thing has really made me do some soul-searching as to whether or not I want STO to still be a part of my life(I know that sounds strange, but when you think about it, it's a part of all of our lives to some small extent). I'm not going to debate the validity of my 'opinion' on that matter, but it has been an interesting tipping point for evaluating my overall enjoyment of the game.

To sum up my retrospective, the thing that drew me into STO was its ability to support the development of my own personal characters' story within the universe of Star Trek. These days, it seems like most of the 'purpose' in the game is to buy/acquire the latest shiny and do the current compulsory 'limited time' event. Rather than exploring and unlocking the secrets of some alien faction, it almost feels like its forced down your throat(especially with the whole dyson arc). Furthermore, the pursuit of adding in bigger and bigger carrots has really pushed the legitimacy, in my eyes, of this Star Trek universe. It really doesn't feel like the 'sandbox' I fell in love with years ago.

I digress though, I'm still on the fence and will wait and see how I enjoy the game when Season 9 lands. For now, I'm in a semi-hiatus.

Simple answer No. I prefer to play something Star Trek based. If STO is the only option then I might not play all the time but I will stick around.

You going have to deal with it. I'm not leaving. That includes all the noobs who want Apple STO online called instant gratification. Because some people are to lazy to build up skills.

I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Dark Souls 2 will be released for PC in a couple days. No more ultra casual STO for me (at least for a while) when it hits steam. I can recommend this game (and Dark Souls 1) to anyone who wants a true (and fair) challenge in a game.

I am tempted to dust off the old game consoles, and go retro for awhile.
Hope it isn't like the Atari, or intellivision games I picked up for my PS2, that left me thinking.
" Why did I waste so many hours of my childhood playing this garbage. These games suck!"

    Hello,

I would like to extend an invitation to the Star Trek Battles channel (for more info click on my sig).

I am not sure if it would help you in keeping your interest in STO but it has mine as well as some other members in the channel mentioned that it has helped them enjoy STO more. I see you on the forums lots and you have probably read my thread but if not I encourage you to give it a shot. Then if it's not your thing than all good.

Good luck - Captain Trizeo out.

Cryptic will find a fix for that soon.
Something like an event where you have to avoid coconut throwing mugatos.... Or.... If we are lucky... It's something actually gameplay related.... Another quality work like the mirror event.

So yeah... I don't know what to do with my life too without cryptic telling me how to spent my time. I suppose I could okay foundry or... Read a book... But how do I know what? There is no "turn of PC and read a book" event.,,

Seriously, season 9 is what... A month away?
