Kit module Model for Weapons and Equipment?

once we get the inevitable level cap increase, we know our weapons and gear are going to become outdated and a lot of time, money and grinding will make for very angry people.

so what about instead of new gear and new grinds, we have weapons like the kits are going to be, given a set amount of slots with modules inside them to arrange procs.

obviously we would't have the weapon specialty transferable, but things like accuracy or damage modules would be something interesting. or whatever, just making them module slotted with some special attribute or advantage given their specification would be good.

IE, common weapons have 2 slots, uncommon 3, etc. Borg adapted weapons would have an extra slot added to them for specifically targeted borg advantages (radiation, weapon frequency scramble, etc) Specific tholian the same thing, voth etc. and for fleet weapons, i'd say they have the most slots, with one more added for the elite weapons so they are actually worth their price tag.

same thing can be done for warp cores, shields, engines and delfectors.

it'd allow us to build our own setups, mix and match what we can do for specific engagements etc.

anyone else think something like this could be implemented?

You have any proof of that? Because I can't find any.

    it's an MMO...it's inevitable.

may not be now, or two seasons from now, but it will eventually come.

People have found icons and sound files in the game indicating it. Probably coming with Expansion #2.

    Okay.

They're making lots of loud noises about reducing power creep, why would they then add this Power-Creepopalooza?

The "could" implement pretty much anything.

Now ask who thinks they should. (Hint: not me.)
