"They will do this by asking a series of questions and based on the answers, deciding whether or not the suspect is an Undine and needs to be quarantined. If the investigator believes a suspect's story, he or she can also clear them from the investigation."
Oh great... I get to read more of the absolute worst writing in all of startrek ever.
Don't believe me? How long did it take for Alexander to die? How many badly written last words did this guy have? They coulda transported his TRIBBLE to a hospital. He was stabbed, not shot, and it was just once. Hell, doctors can fix that **** now in the 21st century.
Really guys, just focus on gameplay. If you could write a story, people would replay your episodes for the story and not the rewards... I'm sorry, I like so much about this game, but the writing is really painful to read. Please don't try to make me read more of it.
Seriously though, who's the plot writer of this game? How does this guy think he is a good writer? I don't understand.
-Elevate limb
-Apply bandaid
-More not interesting or entertaining or educational or well thought out content.
There are only really 2 instances of interesting storytelling in this game, and that's the first contact day Enterprise crew, and the one time where tuvok asked me to decide between the beams and stuff in 8.5. I like the gameplay of this game, it's just, the storytelling could be better. It's really unprofessional.
Read the new S9 blog. It tells of how the devs are going to force us to deal with more incredibly poor written questioning instead of gameplay innovation.
Come on guys, get somebody who's written something good in life to do a professinal project like a game.
I love this. People complain when the game is nothing but shoot-shoot-bang-bang, and now you're complaining when ONE queued event has some actual dialogue in it.
I don't think you'll find much sympathy here dude.

What does owning and/or reading "Star Trek; Voyager" episode scripts have to do with STO?;)
Formerly known as Armsman from June 2008 to June 20, 2012 PWE ARC Drone says: "Your STO forum community as you have known it is ended...Display names are irrelevant...Any further sense of community is irrelevant...Resistance is futile...You will be assimilated..."
Will this be another "click until the answer written in green appears" dialog?
Honestly: This has to give players REALLY good rewards or it will be just another entry in the PvE list that shows a "0" in the "players playing this right now" slot. Having to repeat dialogs during dungeons or instances that you have to play over and over again is annoying in every MMO, but STO is the first one, to make a whole instance out constantly repeating dialog.
How will this even work? After a few days, people will have the solution to every dialog anyway?! This sounds like a doomed concept right from the start.
Why are you even here? If you clearly hate the writing, why are you playing? I like how you are complaining when you haven't even read the material actually in-game. But you must have psychic powers so I guess that works out.
Another thing, the writer is not a dude. Kestrel has been here a very long time. Your comments are incredibly obnoxious.

And she's up for an award for her STO short stories.
And if the OP thinks he can write a better script, then do it and submit it to cryptic or go have some smoked mozerella with his whine and stop playing the game.

I feel that we need an official cheese to go with all this whine.
It's more like a simple memory test. Each suspect will have clues around their area that you read to remember (pictures of family, letters, PADD data, job related, etc.) before you question them. If they get anything wrong, quarantine them. If they're right, they're free to go.
I'm not exactly sure how much "variety" this mission will have per playthrough, whether there's a large gallery of suspects that gets randomly rotated or if the questions and clues get rotated.
I'm not sure if the OP really wants to criticise the story itself, but the lack of possible outcomes or the puzzles that sometimes seem to adress elementary school children. "5+x=15 / 15+y=40"
I would love to see more puzzles that actually require some real thinking. And I would welcome multiple choice dialogues that lead to different outcomes. The choice between beams, swarmers and no support in "Step between the stars" was a very good example.
Above all I really want some episodes that let you chose a peaceful way to complete if you so desire.
Okay, this is just one of the new scenarios in S9 and it's got more than standard pew-pew gameplay.
If folks like their DPS and don't want to try anything else, they can just play one of the other new scenarios coming up.
Implying that S9 is nothing but playing 20 questions is giving people the wrong impression.

I would very much enjoy playing some of your Foundry missions. Could you please direct me to them?
This game has way to much pew pew content and too little content in the actual spirit of Star Trek.
I'm trying to think of an episode during which you're not forced to kill someone or something... well there's that Deferi episode, Cold Comfort (one of my favorites btw), and then there's.... ehm... well?

XD. I lol'd. Now a mod can /thread, because you just won it.
Also OP, if you don't like the storywriting of the game and don't like this new event, there is this one, simple option. Don't do it.
And as for your complain, what rylana said should suffice.

You're not forced to do anything in this game. Don't like it? Don't queue for it.
Now jog on.

Clearly a bad writer then if she's winning a reward. /sarcasm.
But I'm sure our OP is the best writer ever according to his/her logic. So who are we to argue?

But..... we need to meet the quota on "discovering"* new civilizations and new "technologies"** !

Agreed with others on here that we need more missions with a peaceful resolution option since we don't all want to be mass murderers. Thanks.

She's had so many silly people make threads about her writing like this she probably doesn't even care anymore.
