...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
We also don't have the green ones (thought something close) the Klingons have used nor the really red ones. Hey at least you can mount Quantums instead. It's still blue after all.;)

Actually it was never said that the green ones are photon torpedoes. Could be plasma.

In "Sleeping Dogs", the first time on "Enterprise" they board a Klingon ship Hoshi identifies the weapons the Klingons use as "Photon Torpedoes". And later in the episode they fire those torpedoes. They are green. Is that "said" enough for you?

Right. I stand corrected.
How stupid I saw that episode about a week ago... But I probably didn't look during this scene because of playing mirror invasion at the same time....

Sounds familiar.
I'm currently playng STO without sound while season 3 of "Earth Final Conflict" is running in the background on my PC. So it's mostly an audioplay.;)

Also, when the Vulcans are blasting the ground in some scene in Enterprise that I forget much about, they were hitting the ground with Photon charges, and they were green.
Seems to me you can use any wavelength photon to make a torpedo :P

That must be only time you will see green klingon photon torpedoes. Klingon always used the same photon torpedos as starfleet, since TOS... lol. It is supossed photon torpedoes should be always RED, no matter what species is using em. If not, they are just not photon torpedos, the color is not just because it looks cool.. its about the photon properties..

Actually klingons used green torpedoes on multiple occasions. Not even speaking of that green/blue ball the IKS Okorona fired in STV (but that ship had some strange torpedo laucher anyway..)
Just can't remember any occasion ... outside the one in sleeping dogs I was just hinted at... that they were referred to as "photon torpedo".
However.... the green photons are here anyway. The torpedo from the first contact event is a green photon torpedo. And it will probably be available with the undine rep.

A Photon Torpedo is an matter-antimatter warhead.
The photons surrounding the torpedo are nothing but a shield.

Well the thing is that some stuff will always go unmentioned in one episode of another.
In Star Trek 2 the hand phasers were never called that yet nobody will claim they used something completely different for that particular movie.;)
Another thing I just remembered is that in the Ds9 episode "Return to Grace" Worf mentions that Starfleet had shared Photon Torpedo Guidance technology with the Klingons.
That only makes sense if the Klingons actually use those weapons.

specifies that the Klingons use Photon Torpedoes and includes several bits of background on the two most common versions in use by the KDF.
I don't give koch about non canon sources.
Yes of course not all things are mentioned... And while it is LIKLEY that... lets say the weapons used in Star Trek 2 are phasers, if someone WOULD write a story that includes those being the result of Starfleet temporary using/testing tertryion weapons that still wouldn't violate canon.
About the torpedoes... I always speculated that the Klingons would be smart enough to utilize a bigger variety of weapons not resorting to photon torpedoes only.
Then what are playing STO for? It's no more canon than the CBS licensed technical manual you don't give a koch about...whatever that means. Koch is actually the German word for cook.;)

Thing is that the Klingons tend to use what works and is reliable.
Just like they tend to use larger quantities of smaller ships (aside from the Negh'var) they probably only start to rely on exotic weapons when they're at least as reliable and ubiquitous as what they already have.
It may also explain why we never saw them use the cloaked mines with photon torpedo warheads from "Sons of Mogh" more often. Or the writers just forgot about them.

"much"... "koch" was a typo... or failed auto correct not sure.^^
What I mean is: I don't consider anything but canon a source for canon.
STO is a game, that, btw has its very own game-internal-canon. Technical manuals and stuff are... kind of... good for nothing... They do not add to the "actual" canon.. since they are non canon... they do not add to the game canon... the book canon... they just state made up facts nobody refers to..

Well outside the minded wormhole... did we see mines in general again?
Ah thats where this comes from.
Is it worth the money?
It hits for 15k base damage before modifiers like Critical Hits, Captain skills, Consoles, or other boosts are factored in. It flies relatively slowly and can be shot down, but its splash damage radius is 2.5 km. Pretty much it is a bigger Heavy Plasma Torpedo with a bigger blast radius. Be aware that you can only mount it on the T'Varo variants or the T'Liss starter ship.
IMO it is a good heavy weapon to use against slow/immobile targets (including ones that are being held in place with Tractor Beam or Gravity Well--it can annihilate a bunched-up group of frigates). However, since the only Tier 5 ships that can mount it are the T'Varo Retrofit and its Fleet version, it's only worth buying the T'Varo if you find flying the nimble, lightly-armored ship appealing in the first place.
So in essence, why are you giving the koch about STO then? Since, it is the same thing that you described.
As I very well described STO is has a continuity within itself and therefore uses and references its own facts in itself..
Seems like you didn't get my point at all.

Mhm. Not a fan of the T'Varo.... guess I'll skip that one. Thanks for the info^^
Maybe he was thinking of this blue photon used in TMP. I think it depends on the TV, but before things were redone for special editions, the torpedo colors were slightly NOT red.
The OPs request is a reasonable one. If he/she wants blue photons, give it to him/her! Better yet, why not have the player have the option to pick the color he/she wants? Right click on the said torpedo and choose from a rainbow selection of colors. Done. Everyone can have the color they want.
Of course I have no idea how hard it would be for Cryptic to implement this, maybe it is an unreasonable request, but it is just a color.
But hey Cryptic, you could make some $$$ off of this. :P Just saying.
Retired. I'm now in search for that perfect space anomaly.
