That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
not only are there a hand full of other starter ships...the miranda itself consists of 3 base types which are all interchangeable.
you could even use a shuttle...or a freighter at this point.
so, huge variaty is given already. And the argument that it would draw more people to the game is not a fact, just a guess.
also the T1 ships are used for the first few hours of the game...with each rank the variaty increases exponential, since lower tier ships are still perfectly valid for higher ranks while leveling.
steamrunner is the only one i can think of that you didnt name for fed T1's.
There is also an Andorian Light Escort that you can get by purchasing NWN's Heroes of the North Founders Pack.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.

Umm...
Last time I checked the NW site, to see if it were available with Heroes of the North FP, the Andorian Light Escort was not there. Dunno if that has changed, but there you go.
I do think it's a bit stupid to remove something from such an expensive pack thou.
If anything, the Andorian Light escort should have been bundeled with the Andorian escort 3 pack since that would make sense, but Cryptic/PWE making sense is at times, very illogical...

Were excited to announce that purchasing qualifying Packs for Neverwinter will now get you the Andorian Starter Pack, which includes two free items in Star Trek Online, along with several free items in other PWE games...Now, on to all the items you'll earn in STO - for free! The Andorian Starter Pack contains:
Andorian Light Escort
STO Starter Pack
You're right, though - the Neverwinter page for the pack does not describe the STO promo items, nor does it describe the items from PWE's other games that you can apparently get. I assume you can still get the stuff, but I can't confirm.

it was a pre-release special if i recall, or it was a launch special, one of the two, so yes, they could remove it, as it was for the Heroes of the North Founders Pack. the pack they sell now is just "Heroes of the North Pack".

There is a good bet that it will come back around as an incentive purchase - especially now with all the ARC bonus items. They want people to play as many of their games as possible.
So they addet a ship exclusively available for supporting... A completely different game....
 cryptics stupidity knows no limits...
Do you have any idea how many companies offer cross promotions like this? You are acting as if this is some alien concept. It is extremely common in marketing.

However, the wide variety of start of game vessels still makes his point silly in the extreme.
Even if there were only one option that all f(r)actions had to use, the fact that a newbie fumbling along can level out of that ship in an hour with ease makes the OP's "point" a complete non-issue anyway.
Not this comes as any surprise, given the OP in question seems to specialize in fabricating mountains where only molehills exist.
Comments
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Give the players what they want.
I want your account banned and your post count added to my own.
Addendum: Resistance is futile.
I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

Because flying the same ship for 10 minutes until you've advanced beyond it is such a drag, right?
I really doubt that it would.
Word! Hahaha!

Don't like it? There are the Centaur and Shi'Kahr class skins for those of different tastes.
Your point is silly in the extreme.

Cross-promoting your company's products is stupid now?
There is only so much useful variation you can get out of 3 weapon, 3 console and 3 ensign boff slots...

he said Miranda variants he was including the Centaur and Shi'Kahr.

Trollol ... lololol ... lololol ... Simples
Then you're not looking under the right bridge.
