If this is General Discussion, but only for STO, and Ten Forward is apparently where General Discussion is supposed to go, but says this in description:
Ten Forward
- Introduce yourself, share fan art, fan fiction, and make friends here! Romulan Ale is still prohibited. The Captain's Table (RP) sub-forum can also be found here.
Please put General Discussion in the description for Ten Forward.
Boy, are you ever literal-minded, and selectively so at that.
99% of the forumites can tell which forum their thread needs to go in. That you cannot is not PWE's fault.

If you're wondering where General Discussion is...I'd ask you why there even is a General Discussion in the first place when 99.99% of the threads would go in another section of the forums as it stands already...eh?
According to basic reading skills - you didn't read what I posted.
I did... Well the first line... I read the long one in the original post a few days ago.
Roll your lazy eyes all you want, but if the forum descriptions are wrong, and we aren't supposed to write in general discussions, then it's no wonder people still write in general discussion.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
if the forum descriptions are wrong, and we aren't supposed to write in general discussions, then it's no wonder people still write in general discussion.
Forum descriptions don't matter - because people post in General Discussion regardless of descriptions. The topic doesn't matter - doesn't matter if there are specific forums for the topics - folks just post away in General Discussion.
So I pop open another tab and take a look at the threads in General Discussion...
This thread - which has nowhere else to go, since there is no Forum forum.
A thread that should be in Feature Episodes, Events and PvE Content.
A thread that should be in C-Store, ZEN, and Promotions.
A thread that should be in Feature Episodes, Events and PvE Content.
A thread that should be in Tribble - General Discussion and Feedback.
A thread that should be in The Academy.

A thread that should be in Feature Episodes, Events and PvE Content.
A thread that one could argue belongs in General Doom.
A thread that should be in C-Store, ZEN, and Promotions.
A thread that should be in The Art of Star Trek Online.
And yeah...all the other forums are there - folks still just post here.
They should either get rid of General Discussion or get rid of everything else and just have General Discussion...
LOL the original point hasn't been addressed. Ten Forward's description says nothing about General Discussion, and this forum has it in the name, yet when you post General Discussion topics in here, people flame you for posting in the wrong forum, when technically there isn't a right forum.

"This forum is for general discussion and feedback related to Star Trek Online."
Which part of the description for General Discussion do you not get? Given all the other forums, if there is not a forum for it - then one would assume it would go in General Discussion.
It's not a "I want to talk about my cat." section - nothing in its description suggests it is.
Given all the other forums, if there is not a forum for it - then one would assume it would go in General Discussion.
This.
Although since my last discourse about where to post had to be closed due to impending riot, I've come to understand that we should be a little more tolerant of "hot topics" related to the game that show up in this forum.
If it's about the game and it's not immediately apparent where else it might go, post it here. The mods will move it if it makes sense to move it.
If the topic is covered by another existing forum, you're better off posting there.
If the topic blurs the lines between two or more existing forums and you're not sure which one is the most appropriate, go ahead and post it wherever you think it makes the most sense. If it needs moved, it will be.
If it's not about the game and it's just chit chat or a miscellaneous topic, Ten Forward is probably the best place for it.
Whatever you do, don't assume that your thread will stay put where you landed it if a mod thinks it's in the wrong spot. If you're only putting it in this forum because you want lots of people to see it, and it belongs somewhere else, it will probably get moved sooner or later.
Don't worry, we leave breadcrumbs so you can find it again.
As to the OP, the forum descriptions were set by Community Management. The Mods won't touch that.

Well actually, According to one of the mods, we aren't supposed to post in General Discussions.
EVER.
And no.. It's not a bad joke, it's not me pulling your leg.
He said that straight out: General discussion actually should'n be used.
So why they bothered putting it in in the first place... I dunno.
What the heck are you talking about?
I thought WoW's forums had angry elitist snobs, but I never could have imagined the level STO forums has.
And they post to General Discussion anyway...ahem. I posted this just the other day...
According to the mod I mentioned above, your quoted post is wrong, as General discussion is not to be used.

LOL with a name like "Star Trek Online General Discussion" how did you NOT know it was like a General Discussion?
I thought WoW's forums had angry elitist snobs, but I never could have imagined the level STO forums has.
Because it has the word "Online" in it. Clearly it's about the game, not Star Trek in general.
*taps PADD on your head*
