I really hope they continue the Iconian story arc it is very interesting. So far what I've seen especially "Sphere of influence" has really wet my appetite for more. A friend of mine thinks they are going to move away from that story arc . I said no way it is the one congruent theme of this game .Everything that happens is a small piece of the puzzle that the Iconians are behind. Any thoughts? or any dev comments

I wouldn't say they're going away from it. They have changed a few bits of the Iconian influence on the Undine in the revamp. But the Undine have been the elephant in the room for over 4 years that needs to be addressed. The Undine arc merely is step one towards finding and facing down the Iconians.
I've already gone on record as predicting the Iconians will show up in the upcoming expansion. This is for several reasons:
1) Cryptic's already been teasing Iconian content for some time with the last two FEs, the Iconian probes that occasionally pop up in the Dyson Sphere, and with the sphere itself having been designed and built for the Iconians (meaning all the sphere interior designs are basically Iconian, not to mention the consoles that use Iconian symbols), so Cryptic's already done much of the groundwork for eventually introducing them into the game.
2) Since the expansion is reportedly not going to feature any new playable race, it would have to have something else on a par with that to justify an expansion as opposed to just another new season, and the big reveal of the power that's been orchestrating most of the mayhem we've seen in the storyline behind the scenes would seem to qualify.
3) As I pointed out in an earlier thread, the Iconians are getting close to the same point that the Dominion's Founders reached during fifth season of DS9, where they've not only failed to plunge the Alpha Quadrant into war, but the Federation and Klingons are now apparently on the verge of renewing their alliance. When the Founders reached this point they opted to simply try to conquer the quadrant the old-fashioned way. That's what I see happening with the Iconians. (Note that the Dominion spent quite awhile building up their forces in AQ before that war started, so an Iconian-themed expansion would not necessarily have to jump into a full-blown "Iconian War" right away.)
iconians are a large part of the storyline in the game so they are starting trouble in the galaxey,

I wouldn't call them the elephant in the room. The Iconians have an effective tactic whenever the Fed/KDF/Rom get their act together and might actually make progress.
They toss a race that is impossible to reason or negotiate with at them to slow them down if not roadblock them.
First it was the Borg, then the Undine, then the Voth, and now they brought the Undine back.
Its very effective as rather than gain anything the races of the Alpha and Beta quadrants have to blow a lot of time, energy and resources in dealing with another problem.
"Why all the sales"?

Ultimaltly it will turn out that the Iconians plan was ultimately to create a conflict so we can learn to work together and ensure peace in the galaxy....^^

Problem is I'm pretty sure we won't get to see them anyway. They'll continue to be the mythical bogeymen - the demons of air and darkness indeed.
If we fight them, we'll beat them, then wonder what all the fuss was about. Also Cryptic would have to introduce a new and even bigger threat.
Who knows how the story will turn out in the very end. I hope there is some twist to it that was not yet revealed.
