The answer is sort of. ACC overspill isn't converted into additional crit/severity.

Sorry they can't get to fixing FAW or Pets or KDF costumes.
The programmers are busy with S9.
Should I start posting again after all this time?

    Nor should it be IMO.

Accuracy should be lowered for skills such as BFAW and with it the chance to crit.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Yeah, they really need to do more bug fixing.

Also, FaW should be reworked so that it works more like Cannon:Scatter Volley, aka 'needs primary target, barrages the area around there with all arrays that have it in the arc', not the lowbob braindead Autotargeting it is now.

No thanks. Cannon scatter volley is such a pain to use. I'll get targets lined up perfectly for it then some Science guy is all like DERP GUESS ILL KNOCK THE NEATLY CLUSTERED SHIPS OUTWARD IN ALL DIRECTIONS LOL. Same deal with that annoying star base in mirror. You get all your ducks in a row and bam. All goes to pot. Even when I don't have to endure annoying npc and player behavior, when I finish mars utopia repair I'm blowing up ships so fast that scatter starts targeting ships behind me with my turrets when there are already swarms of ships still in front of me to deal with. Very, very annoying ability.

Or at least link it to 'Does not fire unless you have a target locked up as primary', and when that one is popped or dropped, it stops firing.
Also, those 'Tractor Beam Derpulsor' Users are found among all ship types. I fly Science, Advanced Dyson Science Destroyer to be precise. I usually fly 'Tactical Mode'. And as my LTC Power, I use GW1 on 'Low Aux' since Aux does not affect the Repel or Radius, only the Damage.
I dump a perfectly timed and targeted GW1 into a spawned group, some Scimitard roars in on Full Impulse, and fires a Doffless TBR, bowling the targets all over the place, before starting to hump spacebar (still at barely 25 Weapon Power on the Scim, due to Full Impulse, mind you). While an unload with CSV1, 2 DHCs, 2 Turrets and the Proton Weapon, plus a TS3 Torp spread might have taken down half of the bunched up ships.

edit: here, read towards middle to the bottom of the list.

Why not give FAW a primary target? If CSV has a primary target and the Phaser/Disruptor/Plasma Lotus on the vet destroyers have a primary target FAW should have one to. IMHO if the ability does damage then it should have a primary target and if that target gets destroyed the ability ends.

Given the fact that a CSV User has to have a 'Primary' target, and once this dies, he has to retarget ASAP and continue firing, while FaW Autotargets for the whole Duration once started, even when the Primary is gone (or has left Range), it warrants a change in FaW at least.

When using cannon scatter volley, I seldom have problems with shots going all over the place if attacking 3 or more targets. Only when using it against less than that will it do that. However, it will still hit a single target with the same amount of shots.

FAW is an over powered skill, in my opinion. I use it on my cruisers, and Scimitar. It is like a combination of both cannon scatter volley, and rapid fire. When attacking multiple targets, it picks the individual targets. However, when hitting a single target, it will unload rapid fire, on one target.

About using Tractor Repulsor, I use it with my cannon, and beam builds. However, I do try to be respectful of others when using it. If the enemy is being attacked by an escort, or someone uses GW, then I don't use it. But, I did have a situation where I activated my Repulsor, and Evasive Maneuvers. While pushing it, an escort used GW on it, then cussed me out in pm, because they thought I should have stopped using repulsor when he used GW, instead of him waiting till my repulsor was finished. He wasn't even near the enemy when I started, and came up from behind me.

As someone that has been on both ends of the cannon vs repulsor, I can honestly say that some times blame can be on either side. There are just some who don't know how to work as a team. There will always be players like that. They don't look at the others with them, and see how they can help. I have actually used my repulsor to push enemies back in front of someone using Scatter Volley. When I have GW, I have tried to use that to hold the enemy in front of them.

The answer for FAW is simple.

Delete it. It is a bugged skill that hasn't had one version (of which there has been 20 or so) work properly in 4 years.

Rename Scatter Volley "Fire at Will"

Change Scatter Volley so that it works with ANY energy weapon.

While they are at it... do the same thing for Rapid Fire... allow it to work with any weapon.

Ditto for Overload and target subsystem skills... Allow them to work with any energy weapon.

This solves the overly complicated job of trying to balance multiple weapon skills.

Once they have that done... they have to look at weapon damage ranges. It was an interesting idea 4 years ago to give Cannons massive damage drop offs and not do that for beams... However it is clear now that it hasn't really worked as intended.

Double the drop off limit on cannons... which would move there optimal range from 3k out to about 6k.
Reduce the drop off point for beams 25% or so... which would move there optimal range down from 8k to around 6k or so.

By having optimal distance to target being around the same on either weapon type... it becomes about flavor and weapon firing arcs.

We could even see more builds that mixed and matched the 2 types of energy weapons.

Dis agree with most of you. FAW is fine. and it makes sense. a ship with multiple arrays can and should be able to do this. Heck scatter volley should be like it.
