Hey there I got your attention didn't I ?
Well here is my thing just hear me out before you decide.
First what you think off all the useless stuff Cryptic is throwing at us ?
I think they should reward us just with 3 things in this game in PVE or PVP or STF.
I think at the end of a PVE mission they should only reward us with Energy credits.
In a PVP match they should reward us with Dilithium or Energy Credits
In a STF they should reward us with the Marks and Dilithium .
And just clean up stores and make accurate stores to get what we want or sell what we want.
In exchange they should change it if you like to get paid in EC, DILL, or Marks or GPL .
How you like this Idea please tell us ?

"Coffee: the finest organic suspension ever devised. It's got me through the worst of the last three years. I beat the Borg with it."
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
Cryptic needs to make money to keep the game going, and the people who make c-store and lockbox items aren't the same people making missions, rep, or other game systems. So no, they don't need to stop making stuff.
Hey... at least they are trying to fix the mistakes they've made.
The current revamps are admission of guild... "We screwed up, we know you have these things and don't want us to take it away, so we are going to do our best to fix it while we still can".
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Yes please stop making content! This makes sense - we've all seen how that turned out. Go back to the Atari era stone-age why don't we?
We won't have a game left, that makes more sense right?
Hey! I happen to really like 'Combat' on the 2600. I still play it. The tank section is a great multiplayer game. Especially the one with the bouncing ammo.

No not THAT Atari stone age :P, the STO Atari Stone Age where we had barely any content due to lack of funding and support.
If I read this correctly, I think he's not saying "stop making content" he's saying "consolidate all rewards into just three currencies and revise the stores accordingly"

Yup. It's a solid idea. And I totally understand the desire for that.
But, it's not something they are looking to do to the game. They're looking at adding more incentive, so more types of things to collect or grind for (or just play for).
So yeah, at face value, it's a good suggestion. But in the context of the game and where the company is taking the game, not an idea I see them doing.
I agree with you op,
the amount of currencies is too much.
We got gpl, lobi, dili, ec, 4 mark types based on reps ( soon 5 ), fleet marks, zen and commodities needed for most reps and fleet projects.
Wasn't there a currency revamp some years ago?
Wow...we got +14 posts already but only three of those focused on what op tries to tell, the rest was trolling or only reading the title...
I want to commend the OP for actually solving all the problems in every MMO ! People complain about everything, ergo creating nothing means that no one would ever complain !
Yeah, but that was a bit of a shell game and one of Stahl's bigger blunders. It was hyped up to us the players as a currency revamp. And the players took that hype and ran with it thinking it would be really the kind of thing that the OP is getting at.
But it turned out it was just a consolidation of the older currency system to pave the way for the newer F2P model, so we ended up with a whole bunch of currencies anyways.
So yeah, there was a currency revamp. It wasn't much of a revamp.
It seems to me we should only need two currencies in-game: One that is purchased with real-world funds (i.e. Zen) and one that can only be earned in-game (EC). Lobi and dil could then be converted to Zen, everything else (GPL, rep/fleet marks, etc.) to EC.

Well, it also was used to get rid of a bunch of currencies that were utterly useless even before F2P. Especially the level bound ones. It took so long to earn the marks of exploration that you needed to get low level gear that you'd out level the gear before you got it. Feh. We're better off without them.
Anyways, those old marks had their stores get merged to make the dil store.
I wasn't referring only at the currencies I was refering on when you end a mission you get a shield or armor what is green and useless because we already own good stuff...
For instance when you finish the tutorial you get Mark I stuff, why for crying out loud !!!
What the heck I wanna do with Mk I when I started a new char I made sure I had zen so I converted on the char in Dilithium I bought stuff from the store Green Mk II stuff !!!
So instead of getting Mk I stuff give me EC at the end of a mission Thats what I was refering too !!!
Also Exchange if I sell stuff I want to earn a currency what I need most so make it possible to do that like some posts before I stated that not all people have the time to run 2500 missions again and again to get their weapons or end gear console .
By the way don't you think cryptic is making more then enough money on new ships and stuff ??
Same thing they bring something for few weeks it's working great after that they nerf it...
Like Phasers, Tricobalt Torpedo, The Hargh'peng Torpedo there all nerfed to a state useless to the player I wish they stop doing that.

Phasers are still usefull. I realise Disruptors are better, but Phasers are still good.
I still use the Hagh'peng on my KDF

Absolutely. I agree. The merging of the old currencies did clear that up. But overall people bought into the idea of a currency revamp and the way it ended up, we really did get a whole lot of other currencies, so people still come up with ideas to consolidate and streamline currencies.
Which are good ideas, like this original post when you sit down and kind of translate the words.
But I just don't see it happening because even when they did do a currency revamp, it wasn't really designed to be that kind of revamp. Like you say, we got the dil store. And F2P was off and running. And we now have 4 reps with a 5th on the way. And the change to rep powers indicates more reps are on the way. I'm guessing a streamlined set of currencies, as presented by the OP, isn't in the cards.
I wasn't referring only at the currencies I was refering on when you end a mission you get a shield or armor what is green and useless because we already own good stuff...
Vendor trash can be sold for EC. And I do believe your idea was to simply skip the step and have the mission reward that amount of EC?
I think functionally this wasn't done in the beginning because on everyone's first time through, some of those rewards do get used. Four years later, yeah, there's a huge backlog of green Mk X items that everyone just vendors. But the vendor step was needed in the beginning. And some new players still use stuff they collect. There was even a thread the other day by someone who has chosen to use only stuff they get as rewards or drops while levelling.
For instance when you finish the tutorial you get Mark I stuff, why for crying out loud !!!
What the heck I wanna do with Mk I when I started a new char I made sure I had zen so I converted on the char in Dilithium I bought stuff from the store Green Mk II stuff !!!
My advice would be to use the starter gear you get for free (MK I) and any drops you get. And just level past that to the next level band. Heck, I'd not spend a single refined crystal on gear until level 50. It's just not worth it.
Also Exchange if I sell stuff I want to earn a currency what I need most so make it possible to do that like some posts before I stated that not all people have the time to run 2500 missions again and again to get their weapons or end gear console .
That's in the game on purpose. They're not going to allow you to sidestep the Marks and Dil costs of end-game gear. They're certainly not going to allow them to be exchanged.
By the way don't you think cryptic is making more then enough money on new ships and stuff ??
Yup. This is Star Trek. Star Trek fans LOVE buying new Star Trek Collectibles. Like ships in their favorite video game.
Same thing they bring something for few weeks it's working great after that they nerf it...
Like Phasers, Tricobalt Torpedo, The Hargh'peng Torpedo there all nerfed to a state useless to the player I wish they stop doing that.
They never nerfed phasers. Tricobalts took well over 2 years to get nerfed. I forget how long Pengas took, but it was more than a few weeks.

I wasn't around for the old Marks of Exploration and other marks they used to have. But with the current Rep marks, we actually do have more of a use for them. Don't need anything from that Rep store? Convert to Dilithium!
Frankly what I'd like to see is more availablility of the various marks. Omega's one of the easiest to get, followed by Dyson and Romulan. Nukara is... not even on the list. There's only so much of running around Nukara Prime you can do, and the payout for doing Azure is kinda low.
Now... GPL? That is a useless currency. I mean... what DO we use it for anyways? consumible holoemitters and cosmetic trophies that we'll rarely see on our ship! Occasionally a DOff assignment. Latinum is pretty useless in my opinion and needs a serious look for a revamp.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Those holo emitters are the full realization of PVP's biggest fear. Your ship looks like one thing, but is another thing! Also it looks like something they feel shouldn't be in PVP.
Going by one of the most common complaints against having a T5 Miranda or T5 NX, apparently PVPers fear facing ships that look like starter ships but are packing T5 layouts. So holo emittes are the big bad bogeyman that makes that nightmare possible for awhile.
Unless of course, those complainers are lying. Then I have no clue what good holo emitters are.

Well... maybe in PvP its a good way to disguise your ship so they don't really know what you're flying, but outside of PvP its just for the hell of it.

Who is this "us" you refer to?
Your idea to streamline things is an ok idea. But not something they're going to do.
Trying to != Actually doing...
BUT, you have to admit that the potential Power-creep that would eventually have build up would have been harmful to the game.
