Can we get a "Sell Junk" button in our replicator?

tyranthraxisiityranthraxisii Member Posts: 0 Arc User
I'm sure I'll get some flak for the suggestion, as I know there is the occasional white item that sells on the exchange, but honestly, instead of trying to look through all my stuff to find the junk to make room in my inventory, it'd be awesome if I could just push 1 button.
Course, it'd probably break the game when it got implemented, but what's new.

I thought WoW's forums had angry elitist snobs, but I never could have imagined the level STO forums has.

But there is no "junk". There's no ripped Klingon loincloths or spoiled targ livers.

Everything is useable, you personally just don't want it.

How exactly would you implement this?

What is junk to you, may not be junk to me...
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

guess I have to be more specific....
A sell all common quality items button....
And just because it's not junk to you, doesn't mean I do not want to vendor it quickly, if you choose to keep your common items, then don't use the button, but it would be nice to have for those of us that want to use it.

I don't see that button being implemented as there is quite a bit of common items that is usually kept in ready inventory.

Batteries, Energy Cells, Hypo Sprays, and the like.

Besides, we already have something that works better than a sell all button. Go to the Replicator and choose Recycle. Easy, quick, and you can be selective in what you get rid of.

This was brought up before in the past and people were against it. Why on earth would you want the word ''Junk'' on this holy glorious game? Live with it is all I can say.

One man's junk is another man's treasure. How do you distinguish between the two?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I actually thought you were on a good path here, and then this.

Basically you are too lazy, so you want cryptic to make a button JUST for you.

    No thanks... Bad idea.

I could only see this working with user specified filters. So you can tell your "junk filter" what kind of items you want to keep and what's to sell. Then again, Sorting and selling a full inventory takes me about 53 seconds, if I don't take a second look maybe half the time. Hmm... Simplify your life... *sing*

There is already a vendor in the aenigma at the captain's table right behind the bank. He pays 50% of retail for your junk.

sigh I guess it is laziness
    Other games have these functionalities
It just gets bothersome cleaning out 10+ inventories trying to do runs on the grindfest that is STO these days.
Guess I shouldn't have even bothered.

I prefer to use discard, but that's just me...

how do you define what is junk?

what you consider junk others may think is the find of the millenium.

its just as easy and far safer to bring up the recycle tab on the replicator and just click on the stuff you dont want.
unless you devote a set area of your inventery to move junk to, but that seems a bit of a faf to me and still easyer to recycle as above.

p.s. for players who have mentioned using discard, you do know you dont get any ec when you discard where as if you use recycle you get a little ec, and every little helps.
only discard stuff with a zero value.

other games only have these functionalities for items that cannot be used ever, as all items it sto can be used there is no junk in the game.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
