Oh my. That's beautiful.
Well, I'm very sorry I made you cry.
In reality, Peter made you cry. He built that Shuttlebay by his lonesome. And it's pretty damn sweet.
The next patch should make everything in ESD feel a bit more cohesive. Signage, more little fixes, etc.
My only regret with the new Shuttlebay, is that we won't actually be able to use it
Would be lovely to walk over there, and grab a shuttle down to Earth (or back to your ship). I realize the Transporter works just fine for these things, but it's supposed to be an MMO"RP"G after all.
I can't wait.
Yeah, shuttle down to the shttle bay on top of the Academy would be sweet, got the map already from the tutorial
There's a shuttle bay?! Haven't seen it, last time I checked (which was last week).
But seriously, new ESD looks very sleek and modern. Very touching. Honestly, there could be tears.
Well, Tacofangs, tell Peter this, "You are the most wondefull being I have EVER known and encounterd", and while you're at it, give 'im a pay rise!
The whole shuttlebay can be scraped. Please start over!
There is not the slightest indication the shuttlebay follows the curve of the mushroom dome at ALL!
It is a straight hall!
No!
Ok, kidding, it'S great. keep up the good work!.
I did video of the new ESD with the shuttle bay here: http://youtu.be/2CFCMkr830Y
The shuttle bay section is here: http://youtu.be/2CFCMkr830Y?t=8m31s
Notes: I do get a little freaked at the end regarding the sense of space in the new environment. I really hate heights, maybe a little vertigo combined with a 26" HD monitor and it did make me a little freaked (minor swear word used at the end). :P
Just shows you how good a job they did when it does make you go 'ooerr' :P They did an ace job with this.
@Mods and Cryptic staff, any issues with my vid, I'm happy to accommodate.
Nice video, I went the opposite way at the end, got a nice view of Earth, then I went up on top of ESD as far as I could go before getting myself stuck lol, I was trying to reach the Vesta but could not reach that far.
The new (to me) tailor options are cool too, don't know if you saw those? I always wanted to customize kit visuals.
Glad you liked the vid.
Yeah I saw the tailor options, too late to add it to my vid though. There was so much to see in the new ESD im sure I missed a whole bunch of stuff. yet the guys at Cryptic are still adding to it all the time!
While watching a YouTube video about the new ESD, the guy making it was continuosly spammed by spazes shooting beams and jumping everywhere, even after he asked them to stop.
As such, the new and improved ESD needs to have a Mega Stunner Cannon located at it's apex to ensure discipline is maintained.
I'm thinking use the wandering Orbital Blast Template followed by beaming to a glass cage in the middle of ESD where everyone can look at the degenerates.
Make them have to play some terrible minigame to be released.
Even through you were kidding. Look on the ESD model exterior. Look the mushroom top at the area in-between all of the docking bay doors. You'll notice a series of four doors separated by struts. They are light up blue with the force fields over the enterances And they don't follow the curve of the hull. They are in a line. (Ok I'll admit the shuttle bays on the STO ESD model aren't exactly in a straight line. But it's good enough in my book).
Thank you for consistently coming down here to grace us mortals with your presence Tacofangs. This is why you're the most beloved dev in this forum (no offense to your co-workers).
They would be loved more too if they visited us more. :P
Not curved he says. . .
Ha! says I.
When you're dealing with a circle roughly 15 miles in circumference, that curve is pretty gradual at human scale.
(For Reference, the LHC is 17 miles in circumference)
Don't mess with Taco. He knows his round things. :P
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!
