The trait: Precise reads:
You have an increased ability to precisely target fast-moving targets in space combat, giving you extra +Accuracy when firing upon such targets. This bonus is applied when firing on Torpedoes, Mines, Shuttles and Fighters.
+25% Accuracy vs. Small Targets
My question is: Does this trait apply while you're in a shuttle? If so, it should pay good dividends, because while in a shuttle you are almost always up against other small targets. However, I tried this in the queued Elachi PVE shuttle mission, armed with a simple uncommon disruptor beam array [acc] for an additional +10% accuracy, but I still missed an awful lot (Guessing 33% of the time). By contrast, my rare photon torpedo launcher [acc]x2 only missed about 10% of the time during the same mission. It makes me think the trait is not kicking in.
Does anyone know for sure?
