Searching for Duty officers on the Exchange

Is there an easy way to find a specific type of Duty officer on the Exchange? Like I want some more Tractor Beam officers for my KDF toons.

It seems like you have to search for a name, but that's a serious pain in the butt if you have no names to search for.
A Trill, a Gorn, a Jem'Hadar, Bejoran and a Voth walk into a bar, and the Bartender asks "What is this a Joke?"
"Nope, just my away team" the trill replies before ordering a round for the bar.

Plus One to this request. To search duty officers by a known skill , [tractor beam, hazard emitters, emergency power to shields, etc] would improve things greatly. I know this means another index and another sort field. Thanks devs for the effort.

    Yep, I agree.

At least put a very simple filter on faction (Fed, KDF, Romulan) restricted Doffs. The other day I was looking for a Blue Doff diplomat to complete a specific diplomatic mission for my Fed toon.

I was focusing on the traits and I found one who's all three traits contributed to success / critical success so I bought her for 250k EC. I then realized that she was specific to the KDF faction so I could not use her. I found another Blue diplomat that was usable by Fed players for $200k EC but he/she only had two of three traits that would be useful for the diplomatic mission I wanted to complete.

Use the index, select the Doff category, and this opens up a menu of specific types within that category (choose tactical, for example, and you can then choose energy weapons, projectile weapons, conn officers, etc).

It works right now exactly like you are saying you wished it worked.

    1. Leave the top field blank.
    2. Select the rarity you want or leave as "Any Quality".
    3. Scroll down the list at the left until you find the category for each department head (Tactical, Operations, Science, etc.) and click the one you want.
    4. From the subsection you opened, choose the category you want (e.g. Operations -> Flight Deck Officer).
    5. Check the circle at the bottom which only shows usable results (so FEDs don't see KDF only DOFFS and vice versa).

Et voila. The functionality you desire is already there. Only thing it doesn't do is further sort by roster powers so you can't specifically search for a flight deck officer that reduces cooldowns for hangars and exclude all other types, for example. Probably because they add new roster powers so often the exchange would need updating every time.

Don't forget to click on "Display Usable Items" at the bottom of the exchange screen before you search. The search tool will exclude DOff's not compatible with your faction. I ran into this problem myself before our Fleet Admiral gave me that tip. If you have bought a non-usable DOff, you can always put it back on the exchange, as I did.

This is not true lol. I do that every time and still the exchange shows me doffs from other factions. Same for other items. As far as i know the "display usable items" only function never worked.

    Doffs, not Boffs.

Yeah, but I was looking for in game options to deal with the issue like:

    1. Sell into slavery
    2. Torture for information
    3. Unethical, inhumane experimentation
    4. Execute

Then I remembered that I was in the Federation...

One big problem with the "Display useable items only" in regeards to doffs is, that it's still listing the opponents factions doffs, even if they're not displayed.

    The problem that occurs is:

On a KDF character. Filter by ascending price.

If there are 400 Federation refugees on the exchange that are cheaper than the cheapest KDF refugees, the KDF ones won't appear as the exchange only lists the cheapest 400 items. You'll see 400 federation refugees, 0 KDF.

When you switch to "Display useable items only" now, it'll turn into displaying 0 Fed Doffs and 0 KDF.
