Rich dilithium claims

I got a Rich dilithium claim from a Lock box and now I've run out I want more, can you get them anywhere else or are they Lock box exclusives? I've looked on the exchange and to my surprise can't find a single one however I know searching for stuff on there can be a bit hit or miss sometimes if you don't use the correct phrase so if they are on there what should I search for in order to find them please?

Yup, the only source for these is to open a lock box.

And you can't move them to another one of your toons via the account bank either.

    Very character bound.

Of course, the good news is a key is around 2 million on the exchange, and 2 million is pretty easy to get.

Hmm I've opened 14 lock boxes since I started playing in January and only one of them contained Rich dilithium claims, if they all contained a couple of Rich claims in addition to the normal contents then I reckon loads more people would buy them.

From what I have seen the people like you and me. (The ones who use these claims), are few and far between. Most people have so much Dil that these are useless to them. I really wish these could be sold on the exchange Id by a few hundred.

I do see why they are bound though. Its an easy 4K of dil for a couple of minutes work. Too many people using them and then the Dil exchange gets flooded.

Yep I can only play for about 90 mins a day and I struggle to earn 2000 Dil a session, I'm currently trying to buy tier XII ship weapons from the Dill store and at 22'000 Dil a pop it's a long term project lol.

Personally, while I can see why they are bound, as admirallarrick said, but I agree, we need to be able to either trade them or do something else with them, I am sitting on several hundred claims, which I probably will never use up.

If you have any more claims left you might wanna save them for a dilithium bonus weekend.

Dont waste dilithium on weapons.. just buy em on the exchange and save as much dilithium as you can. Weapons on the exchange are usually far better than the ones you can buy in a dil vendor. And of course, far cheaper.

About rich dil claims, yea is something that almost everyone wants to change. I have about 30 claims on my main and other 15 on my secondary and i dunno what to do with em, im afraid i will use em only in dilithium events lol. I wish i could sell em on the exchange or trade to my other toons. And thats all, its a question of luck. You can open 3 lock boxes and gain 3 mining claims packs in a row, happened to me. But yes, they are rare, and you can open 20 lock boxes and never receive a pack.

On Nimbus you can get those 2000 in what, 15 minutes?
Also, on Starfleet Academy, answer the "Test your knowledge". A few seconds to get dilithium. You can have it guaranteed by finding the answers on the web.
You can also plan a few DOff missions that give 50 dil each. Fast and easy.
Dyson battlezone (takes a bit more time, though) also rewards a lot of Dilithium

as others have said, save them for the dil weekend...10000 dil if I remember correctly. (maybe not, haven't used any of mine since the last bonus weekend, but it was enough to make me go "nice..." and wait to use the rest).

Bah I found 5 in the box and have already used them all :(

I'll probably get another ten keys if they have another key sale anytime soon and try to get some more which this time I'll keep until a Dil weekend.

Love the rich claims, utterly totally love them. Even on days when I'm super busy, I can spare at least a couple of minutes to use them and ensure I hit my dil refine cap, making me feel like I'm being at least productive in-game. Given I never gotten a non-mirror ship out of 100+ boxes, they were actually something low-value enough, yet so valuable to me.

Problem is I got almost sixty claims from the Dominion boxes when they first came out, but successively less and less. I only received one preferred package (so far) out of the time period that the Voth and Hirogen boxes were running for. Hate the thought I'll soon run out :(

I always hit 5k dil when I use up my rich claims. Honestly, I wish it was just 5k refined.... or just 5k unrefined... I really don't enjoy that minigame.

No always. For example Romulan plasma weapons are much better, combining plasma and disruptor. But I plan to buy only two of them, 28500 or so per weapon is way too much.

What stops me from opening lock boxes is that the claims and lobi are character bound. If they were account bound and so could be placed in the account bank I would actually start buying keys to open them.

Unfortunately you can only get them from lockboxes. They are nice to have when you need the dil and it saves alot of grinding. Good luck to you.

There is no way you can gather 2000 dil in nimbus in 15 minutes lol. First, if you are lucky, you can do about 1800 if you do the 3 dil missions and they are not broken, plus 2 or 3 mini-missions = 1800. More than that in less than 15 minutes its just not possible. In fact, i never reached 2000 dilithium in nimbus, not unless you stick around for 1 hour trying to do all the mini-missions. Thats the only way.

Dilithium from doffs is only worthy if you do critical success. Those 50 become 125, 250,500,750 even 1000 in some cases. But only if you make critical success. You will probably get far more dilithium farmng contraband in one day, but of course it will be a time eventually where u have a lot of blu and purple doffs, and those dilithium assingments will become critical most of the times..

The test your knowledge event from the academy was worthy when the anniversary event was on, or the academy event. Im not going to go specifically to the academy just to gather 460 dilithium.. that is a waste of time. I dont need that anyways, same as i think most of the people.

Dyson battlezone yea, if you stick around 30 minutes or 1 hour, you can gather A LOT of dilithium. But not everybody likes ground farming zones, not specially in this game.

Lately i only doing eta eridani (about 3000 dilitium) , defera (2400) and sometimes nimbus (but i am going to stop going to nimbus, i lost my patience with the bugged missions) and contraband. That plus two or three borg red alerts, gives me my daily dil cap. I try everyday to refine 8000 dilithium + 500 from the fleet mine. And i always use 8000 to trade for zen. I save 500 every time.

Yeah thats the main issue with the dilithium mining thing. I mean, if you could gain more dilithium if you , for example do an score of 1000 in the "mini-game" it will make sense and people will go to the mining thing more often. But right now, the mini game is just something you need to do, its not even a mini "game", since you will not be rewarded with more dilithium if you throw your fingers on the keyboard to reach 1000 score lol. People are tired of the dilithium min games, because they make no sense at all. Even if you reach 700 points (the minimum score to gather the default 200 dilithium) you need to stay until the time runs out to get the reward. Just stupid.

This right here. My last box-opening spree netted me 16 rich dil claims from 10 boxes, just before the dilithium weekend, which equated to 56,000 dilithium just from mining over the 4 days (10,000 from the rich claim, 4,000 from regular mining). Saving 4 for the next dilithium weekend, burning through the rest to convert to Zen so I can get something nice for myself.

I was gonna say to not use them yet, but you already did. If you get more, save them for the Bonus Dil weekend. You get 200% then. (aka up to 10,000) I have one left and am saving it for then.

For Dil grinding, the Dyson Battle Zone is actually a good place to go. Provided you run the dailies, 2 rounds gets you about 10k, which can be done in about 60-90 minutes.

As for Rich Claims, they are lock box only and bound to the character you unlock the box with. Something to remember if you have multiple toons. Which sucks royally as I have a 25 month supply on 1 character and would love to spread it around to my other 5 alts.

You telling me that in Dyson battlezone you can do 10000 dilithium in 60 minutes?? how the hell do you do that lol? Max i gained was about 4500 - 5000 in 1 hour... doing the entire run (killing 2 dynos as well). And i was tired as hell, never going to do that again lol. I dont like ground fights, but the battlezone is a mess. Thats the only problem, not everybody likes grinding in ground, specially in STO.

But if i can do in 25-30 minutes about 5000 dilitium (tell me how -), that will sufice... lol.

I know dyson battlezon is the best place to gain dilithium but i never imagined that you can do 10k dilithium in 1 hour, i thought the dilithium reward system of STO is not allowed to provide you with that ammount of dilithium in only 1 hour in the same area.

That is not quite correct I am afraid.

You cannot get them in Cardassian, Ferengi, Tholian & Temporal lock boxes.

Every other lock box since those has a chance for them (mostly adding up to about 5% for a claim pack) to be in it.

The Dominion lock box (which was the first who had them) however has a much greater chance for a claim in them. ~15% of these will have either a preferred or vip customer pack in them.

So if you really want to go for dilithium claims I suggest opening dominion boxes only.

    Enjoy.

And yes, i think the rest of my claims come from a Dominion lock box.

My last mining claim pack came from a Hirogen box (12 boxes yielded 1 claim pack, ~8% yield). Previously, I only ever got them from Voth boxes, though I read somewhere on the forums that Ferengi, Dominion, and Cardassian boxes also have some. You'll likely have to buy those on the exchange (if anyone is selling?).

You cannot purchase the dilithium claims off the exchange, they are bound to character.

I always recommend (if you have a number of toons) is to open boxes on different ones to spread out the claims, it is no worth to have 900+ claims on one toon, the claims in your inventory will outlast the game.

Domion boxes have the highest yield on dropping Dilithium claims by far.

I for one stay away from Lockboxes that yield the claims, I have enough for a while, I do not want more. I know of a number of people that are the same way, if they could be sold on the exchange, that would great!!!!
