Galaxy X Saucer not firing photons or mini-lance

I let the saucer fight on its own for several minutes, and it never fired anything but dual cannons and beams. Combat tracker showed no sign of photons or lance attacks.

DPS from the saucer was absolutely pathetic. It was only able to pull a little under 33 damage per second, and just under 74.5k damage total.

While I know that the maneuver boost is the main reason to want to separate, it might be nice for the saucer on a warship to do a bit more to help.

I too can confirm that the Saucer was not using torpedoes or any enhanced beam weapons. It was however benefiting from the Omega Graviton Effect from T4 Omega Rep and scoring critical hits so that's working fine.

It also seemed to act very strangely after a minute or two. When I target an enemy, the saucer flies in a zig-zag pattern, but somehow always faces forward and gains an ungodly high turn rate to always use the dual cannons, which I'm pretty sure that, while helpful, it's not intended to do that.

EDIT: Oops, the Dev Blogs state that torpedoes aren't on the Saucer's Arsenal. My mistake

I'm not even sure if it is supposed to fire Photons or the Minilance, but it definitely is supposed to fire Dual Heavy Cannons, which it doesn't do either.

I think that last bit might have been it kicking in Evasive Maneuvers. At least that was what I was assuming when I saw it.

The Saucer itself is just gravy on the meat that is the +10 maneuver bonus that turns the stardrive section into a fairly capable escort carrier cruiser. Take your unfounded fail talk back to the threads it belongs in, please.

I think the description just lists dual cannons, not DHCs. It does indeed fire standard dual phser cannons.

I only saw it firing beams.

I only saw it firing beams.

ACT shows cannons, and I did see it firing them on the approach to my first target. I don't think it turns fast enough to bring them in arc very often.

Unfortunately, the saucer does not have evasive maneuvers. It was doing this zigzag pattern the entire time I had an enemy targeted (more than a minute at times). It also apparently can fly sideways, which I'm pretty sure Evasive Maneuvers doesn't let you do.

I also made a mistake on the torpedo absence, the saucer isn't designed to use torpedoes, just beams, dual cannons, and the mini-lance, the last of which is the only thing I saw missing.

I don't think you made a mistake with the torpedoes.
I think I read in the saucer sep console's description that the Dreadnought's saucer is supposed to fire torpedoes. I might have read that wrong though.

Edit: Checked it the console states that the Dread's Saucer can fire Photon Torpedoes

The saucer is suppose to fire torpedoes?

Haven't tested it on tribble, but on Holodeck I've seen it fire its lance maybe once. Other then that it fires beams only and not very often.
