Boffs space/ground traits

This is really more about space traits.

Do they only "work" (like for example human +hull regen) if they are slotted into one of the stations used on a ship?

Or is it about simply owning the boff since you can have more boffs then station slots so to speak.

I'm still fairly new to the game, been away long long time, so hopefully someone can answer it plain and simple :P

They need to be slotted. Otherwise, my Nausicaans would be crazy OP. Makes the loss of a 5th BOff chair in my B'rel a little more painful.

For the most part, i look for space traits first. Ground traits on my BOFFs only help me when i am doing missions, so i dont worry about those very much.

If you look at your "Duty Officer Roster" there are two tabs, one for "Active Ground" and one for "Active Space"

For a DoFF to provide it's bonus it MUST be in one of those.

You can un-assign and reassign as often as you need, however assigning a DoFF to an active position will "bind" it to your character, so you wont be able to sell it afterwards. (though you can still use it for Fleet Projects ... hmmm, bit of swifty their Cryptic)

    He said Boff.

What catliketyping said is the truth. Boff space traits only work when they're assigned to a station (same thing ground traits and being on an away team).
