Boff Costumes

cabousecabouse Member Posts: 7 Arc User
Its occurred to me for some time now after the latest Mark Weekend I managed to unlock the Omega, Maco and Adapted Maco Ground sets and their costumes only to my disappointment that the Boffs couldn't wear the uniforms I have unlocked.

I don't know if this would be difficult to implement could the devs look into this it would be nice to have my party and I running around in custom maco or omega costumes etc.

While it's not exactly what you're asking for, Boff's CAN wear MACO and Omega uni's as long as the armor is equipped (might be the whole set, actually).

While we're at it, though, it'd be great if we could change unis for opposite faction commendation boff's, embassy romulans and others, as well.

Yeah the Uniform options for the Diplomacy BOFFs are quite limiting, I recently bought the Dyson uniform from the fleet tailor, and I am so glad its a cross faction outfit to that included some non spiky shoes for the BOFF ( why must so many KDF boots have blades on them? )

On the topic of the MACO and Omega outfits for BOFFs, I think it would be really nice if those outfits could be added to the regular uniform catagory, that way we could mix them up even more and give them to our BOFFs

I know you're specifically discussing the reputation outfits, but how hard would it be to allow boffs to wear off-duty outfits? For instance, it would be nice to be able to outfit an entirely Vulcan crew on a D'kyr with the robes instead of starfleet uniforms...

Wait. BOFFs can't wear Reputation costumes either?! What is the frakking point of buying all these costumes and grinding all of this content if I can't customize my crew the way I see fit?!?! The big draw for me to STO was the fact that there was supposed to be all this customization available. Now it seems that options are more limited than I thought. :-/

To be fair, the customization was for you, not your crew.

And "the frakking point" of buying all these costumes and grinding all this content is for YOU to wear the costumes. I admire your selflessness in prioritizing the appearance of your bridge officers above yourself, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Well, your crew and your ship is an extension of you.

    Hahaha. Welcome to KDF.

The lack of outfit choices is a feature, not a bug!

Also, Marauder BOFFs have no uniform options, unlike Diplo BOFFs. So convenient!

Changing the face or hair also uses "invalid parts". Another feature of the KDF! Additional unmodifiable BOFFs!

    Hi,

When I hear this about the KDF... it's frustrating. These players (and the Romulan Faction, too) deserve at least the same awesome options, choices, and an immersive Star Trek Online experience that I get to enjoy.

As a Federation character, I feel very fortunate and actually pretty spoiled.

Actually Marauder BOFF's can use the mining outfit.

The lack of uniform options on the KDF side, as well as the abysmal color palette, has been a major influence on why I'm hesitant to create any more KDF characters.

A while back there was a dev that was working on something wonderful. Getting rid of the off-duty, formal, Omega, MACO, Honor Guard uniform options and merging them all together. With this he was working on also making it so you could not modify the uniforms of the BOffs that currently aren't. Sadly, he left. As what happens when a dev leaves, everything he was working on gets thrown away.

what does "outfit uses invalid parts" mean?

    Question Reference #140427-001711

So, take away message is perhaps, "we don't recognise your problem", or "we don't know how to fix your problem", or "please buy more stuff."

Come on, PWE/Cryptic/Arc/Whatever you want to be known as, get it together. All I want to know is the what and why "outfit uses invalid parts." Or use a different error message.

It means what it says on the tin. The Marauding Boff doesn't have any valid parts because it doesn't work properly. Hence, the outfit uses invalid parts. As for the reply, that simply means it's been reported in the past and there's no solution to your problem.

Also, this really didn't require you to dig up a thread that's sat unused for two months. We all know the Marauding Boff is broken. It has been for ages.

Oh, and in case you didn't know, Boffs can use MACO, Omega, Honor Guard and Voth armor now.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.
