Why dont cryptic have the choice to pay half one month and half the next? The ships for some people may seem expensive but if you can pay half now and half later more people would buy ships because its allowing them to spread the cost instead of one big chunk, anyone agree?
So Cryptic should give everyone a line of revolving credit?
Yeah, not really seeing it. Want to pay half now half later, put the Zen on a credit card which you can then pay off half now and half later. Buy Zen cards- one for half the price of the ship now, one for the other half next month, then use them.
just buy the zen as you can afford. when you have the amount buy. I don't think PWE will let you finance your starship.. if they did you may not like who shows up to repossess it
if you can afford to pay cryptic half this month, and half next month - you can afford to save half this month, and buy a card next month..... hence you don't have to wait for cryptic to do anything.
When they do offers like they did a while ago where they were reduced would be nice to at least have the option then
Let's make something perfectly clear: Never. Gonna. Happen. Without credit checks, they're not going to let you buy something for half-price and a promise to pay the rest later. Period. It's just that simple.
What you might stand a snowball's chance in Hell of getting is something along the lines of a "layaway" plan- where you'd pay it off in increments, but wouldn't get your ship or whatever until the last payment was made.
But I don't even see that happening since there are already ways to do it piecemeal without PWE's involvement. Several of those methods were outlined already in this thread.

Yes, because each pixile spaceship cost a fortune to build.
On the other hand, they can repossess said spaceships in order to get nothing.:D
A more reasonable request would be to allow each ship to be "rented" for a brief period of time...this however would need to be designed so that items that were placed on the ship go into a holding bag when you let them lapse.

OR, alternatively, you could put half the cost aside this month then, next month, when you have the rest you could buy the ship then! :P... that way Cryptic doesn't have to get involved. In all honesty the sort of people who can't do it that way and would need some sort of payment plan are usually the sorts that would never pay off the debt, anyway...
*STO*Its mission: To destroy strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations... and then kill them, to boldly annihilate what no one has annihilated before!

But if we save 2 months for it then we don't get the immediate gratification of flying it around on the first day it's released! :P

I dunno, I'd almost deliberately default if it got me a meeting with Liquidator Brunt.

So they should just give them all away anyway, based on that brilliant logic. Amirite?
